    This is the third tournament for Sijsling and he clearly isn't ready. He finished the last season in August due to a finger injury but he also had problems with his shoulder and had minor knee surgery. He said he won't play AO qualifiers because he's not ready. He played indoors on a fast surface which suits him. He beat Jahn, was in pain and retired in the next match. The last information from his official page suggests that he decided to go with this tour and see if it work. It's not working. He got just 5 sets against De Minaur in Canada, won only a third of second serve points. As he went on open hardcourt, the problems got even more obvious. His opponent Coppejans had a break point in all of 7 service games. Seijsling lost his serve 5 times. He lost a break in both meetings. The second set lasted only 17 minutes. I don't see why anything would change now against Souza. The Brazilian is close to Top 100 but more importantly, he is healthy and focused. He has last season's final to defend and has been doing well lately, I believe in him. Sijsling will take care of the rest. I believe he's get a few games here too. Details

    This is a typical situational bet. Saran are coming with three back court players, and that's got to show. What's best, all three were playing the second league last year. Three players can't keep it up through the entire game in the third league, let alone the first. But with the thin back court, they're also missing their best scorer. So, picking their team under makes perfect sense. Even though statistics are not on our side, and Saran have 4-15 score of under and over for the 27.5 margin, we've got to ignore that. This is a specific situation. But we don't have to ignore the fact that Selestat have been waiting a long time for this game. They allowed over 28 goals only four times in nine home games - to St. Raphael, Montpellier, Paris and Aix. Teams who are a world above Saran. It's also very interesting that Nantes stayed under this number. The first game ended 28-28 in normal circumstances. If Saran want to get points today, they have to fight for them, and that's what Selestat have been doing this entire season, playing the slowest game of them all. Details

    These two teams are in different forms ahead of this derby. Kristianstad have 4 wins after the Champions League ended. The +10 win over Lugio was the one that stands out. They can now focus on the domestic championship and we need to point out that they have nothing but wins home. Alingsas are on a two-game losing run and will definitely not be easy opponents today. The defeat in Stockholm left a trace on the team and that was obvious in the Guif game. They recorded an embarrassing 23-30 defeat. Alingsas won the first game home but that will only given and extra boost of motivation today. They will go full throttle, there is no doubt about it. Looking at Alingsas' results away, we see they are quite modest. They beat only RIK when it comes to better teams while the rest were a struggle and often defeats.
    They are now to face a team which beat them two years in a row. They face a team that trashed them every time home and that wants to confirm his domination in Sweden. With Simić in great form, this should be rather straightforward. Details

    The difference between these teams is evident. Elverum got gold pretty easily. They lost one game to fatigue, the other one to approach. They won all the other ones. They are simply too powerful for the rest of the league and the most important thing for them is having motivation. Since they have been repeating that the playoffs are the main goal throughout the season, I don't see the reason for them hold back here, especially home.

    The visitors have no ambition. Their main goal was to stay in the league but they ended up getting in the playoffs. They lost a total of 13 games but the most important ones are against top 4 teams. They lost both to Elverum quite easily. It was -6 and -9. There is also the cup game (-9). BSK beat them by one home (-4 at HT) and 10 away. They played to with OIF (lost by 9 and 8). The ones with Haslum were 4 and 17-goal defeats. So in 9 games against top 4 teams, they lost only two by less than 6.

    Elverum were very strong in the second half of the season. They won 8 games, 6 of which by over 5 goals. They were under against much better teams Haslum and BSK. There is also the defeat to Fyllingen which just happened. Drammen are not that level, as their h2h games suggest. I expect an easy win for the home team.

    Elbverum beat Bodo by 13 in the first game at this stage. Details

    Union Olimpia's coach Okorn says they want to improve the bad impression from the Rogaška game. That saw them fall behind Krka after the second round of Champions League and they don't have too much room for new mistakes. The team from Ljubljana is complete and completely focused on the SLovenian championship in which they beat Helios by 8 and 7 (when incomplete), while they won the last game over them in cup QFs by 17 (12 at halftime). Their approach was not as serious because of the big lead from the first game and won by 6 (9). Olimpija were not complete then either and Domzale were much more competitive than today.
    After losing in Cup QFs and securing Champions League, Helios decided to try and deal with their debts so they let some very important players go. Curry (11,9 points and 5,6 assists on average) left earlier, followed by Jones who recorded 18 points in that cup game. He was by far their best player (hit 30 in the first championship game in Ljubljana). The average in the championship was 15,5 points. They recently terminated Kyzlink's contract as well (average of 11,2 points). Remekun is out with an injury as well so Helios became a team with no foreigners overnight. They have very young players now and it's no wonder the coach said they're in for a very tough week because the domestic U19 championship finals come right after it. Details
