The first match showed what Acquachiara are up against this season. Verona crushed them in the middle of Napoli, and when we add to that the Cup in which they lost all three matches, it's clear this will be a tough season. Almost the entire last season's team left, nine new players arrived, but the quality dropped. Besides, they need to get into the rhythm even though they have a big coach leading them. Quinto ended the first in the second league last season, they got stronger, but they won't be able to reach the middle of the table. Despite that, they showed in the Cup that they can beat teams like Trieste last year, and at home they will be a tough nut. France aren't a team anyone can trash but still, they are not as big an underdogs as they were against Montenegro and Italy. Both of those teams had odds sets at 1,05 in those games. Montenegro had 5-0 at half time, Italy had +4 a few times. The US were 6-1 up with just a few minutes left in the game. Had they had better extra-player efficiency, they would have had bigger advatnage.
What's important is that France had scored just one goal in the first 30 minutes. We now have Spain, who seem better than Montenegro and the US and seem at least close to Italy. With Croatia failing, they became the contenders for a medal. The whole team seems better than at Euro- MOlina is at a high level, Echenique far better than at Primorje. If they beat Croatia by 5, they have to beat France by at least 3. Sheer logic, their bigger quality and performances here all suggest that. Details

Spain haven't win a single of three games in Bor. They haven't beaten France (9-9), and that's why we've got 1.20 against Japan. It should be 1.03 really. That's why I think they'll be motivated to play well today because it'd be too much to leave without a win again. The Japanese lost all three matches, managed to be evened out only against the unmotivated Italians. They've lost 8-11 to Brazil, but won the last quarter 6-1. They've lost 6-12 to Montenegro yesterday. Those six goals is the realistic difference between Spain and Japan, so these 3.5 are obvious. The Spaniards can take away their counter attacks, and that means that Japan have no weapons left, and the Spaniards will have a lot of room for the transitions and easy goals. Details

USA won 19-2 last month, and it was 9-1 at halftime. What has changed since then? Almost nothing except the fact that China is playing at home now, but that doesn't change anything. In the meantime, USA have defeated Italy, Montenegro, played competitive games which they lacked before that tournament. Chinese selector announced a month ago that he will have three new players at his disposal for this tournaments, and the new rules about 15 players allow two new players anyway. In comparison to the last year, China have completely changed their team, it is pretty much a youth team, and if South African Republic and China faced each other, I would give the advantage to SAR. Besides, they lost to weak Kazakhstan 7-16 a month ago. I think that says enough about the quality of this China. USA can again cover this in one half, the whole game should be enough. Riske has a title from Eastbourne last week. I don't think the odds would have been set at 1,25 at her here had she not won that title. And she was just one point short of the defeat. Barthel is being underestimated here just because she didn't play for quite a while now. But, I would not write her of here.
On the contrary. She made a comeback in Paris and played three sets. She trashed Falconi in the second set, which was a very godo sign. What is key here is the fact she likes grass court. Her serve and shots do well here. Granted, she has no wins on this surface since 2014 but she lost to Top 30 players in both matches (Pavlyuchenkova and Bencic). The year before she lost to Kvitova and Ivanovic and to Zakopalova. Her opponent here almost lost her Top 100 spot and wasn't having a good season until Eastbourne. She has just two WTA wins since mid-March. She can do well on clay court but Barty caused her problems in the semis last week and Moor in the final. She was No. 300 at the moment. There is no doubt Bertens is better than both of them. She is Riske's level and that she is not given a lot of chance here just because she took a long break. If Barty and Moore could have covered this against the American, so can Barthel at any moment on grass court. She was not trashed on this surface many times and definitely not by players barely in Top 100. Details

Soler-Espinosa didn't deserve to go out to the court today. She lost the third round of qualifications to Siniakova in straight sets, but got here as a lucky loser. Bacsinszky is defending last year's semis here. She's coming after beating Suarez-Navarro, Makarova, Petković, and having the best ranking of her career. She got a title in Rabat, too. She only struggled against Kozlova and Babos there, but those are in a momentum where they can be dangerous to anyone. The Swiss dealt with Wickmayer and Tsurenko in the first two rounds in Rome. Tsurenko by six games, and Tsurenko left Espinosa with four games a month before that. It's all just on paper, sure, but it shows that Bacsinszky will get an easy win to start the tournament. She said she won't underestimate anyone, and if she does that, Soler-Espinosa just doesn't have the skills or the form right now to harm the Swiss in any way. Details

The odds at Spandau have plummeted and the first thing that came to mind was that Barcelonta might be without some players today. But, that is not true. Only Szirany, who's been out for a month now won't be there. So why have the odds at Barceloneta had such a sharp rise. I don't know, but I assume someone's think they will go there to lose. After the Olympiacos and Eger game, things will be clear. Only Eger's win would leave them without a chance of reaching the second spot, which is a bit better since it gets them Jug in QFs. Spot three gets them Szolnok and Szonok is a bit more demand than Jug I'd say. Losing somewhere on purpose before the the final of the domestic championship doesn't seem like a good idea. There is no point in discussing the difference in quality. The Germans hit 3 goals against Olympiaocs last round and didn't beat even Jardan home the round before. It's been a while since the draws with Primorje and Olympiacos. They don't have anything to play here but prestige, while Barceloneta,as it seems, have more to play for. I think we should go with medium stake at Barceloneta here. Details

The handicap on Trieste grew, but there's a good reason for it. Sori are arriving to Trieste with juniors. Such a decision obviously means they've given up on staying in the first league. They were the weakest team anyway, and with juniors in the team they're going to get crushed by Trieste. Trieste have a couple of injured players, captain Giorgi has problems, but even if he doesn't play, the rest of the team would be too much for even complete Sori. The home coach says he won't pay attention to the problems and the visiting team's draw. Details

We have here at least two good reasons to expect an efficient game. The first one is that the game pretty much has no result importantce. Ortigia will face Lazio in the play-out, and Verona will go to F6 from the third position. The second reason is that these two teams showed throughout the season that their strongest weapon is their offense. That was not questionable for Verona, and the number of games in which Ortigia had problems with offense is very small. Verona went over this margin in several last games, and that was against teams of similar quality (Sori 19-1, Roma 23-8, Fiorentina 23-10). So, Verona mostly demolished teams from the bottom with their offense, and the same should happen this afternoon at Syracuse, even more so because Ortigia are weakened with the absence of the team's second-best scorer Danilovic, but even without him, they can keep up with the offense. I think the odds are pretty big for Kazakhstan. China came here with a young team, only three left from the team that played the World Championship, and they're 19, 19 and 21 years old. So, that's what China came to Yokohama with, and their coach said this is basically the first competition of this type for all his players. When Japan crushes them by 16, I think their quality (or lack of) is obvious. True, Kazakhstan got crushed too, but Brazil are a world above Japan. Kazakhstan got a rejuvenated team, too, but eight of these played in Trieste where Kazakhstan played a tie against Germany, and were decent against Netherlands. Their coach said he "thinks" they can beat China, and that's usually said when it's really believed. I think the more experienced, stronger and better Kazakhs won't have a problem here. Details

The odds are completely off here. Napoli are neither the home team or better-quality than Poslilip like the 1,40 odds suggest. This derby match will be played at the legendary Scandone, which is share between all three Naples teams - Napoli, Posilipo and Acquachiara. Napoli are ahead of Posilip on the table, they have 14 wins in 22 rounds and a barely positive goal difference. Everything they won was won by a goal or two. They were without the well-experienced leftie De Crescenzo, who is their third-best scorer. Hus shoulder is still in pain and will most likely see him sit the city derby out. Defender Mattiell will not be there with a suspension, which is quite a bit problem.
Things are finally ideal at Posillip, on the other hand, at least when it comes to the players since top center Klikovac is back on the team. They trashed third-best team in the championship without him last round. The 10-8 score doesn't suggest that but they had a 9-2 lead in the third quarter. That means this team is much better than spot 5. They have still not secured the final part of the championship but this is a chance for it. April is the month of suspensions in Italy. There were almost no teams in which someone hasn't been suspended for something. Time has come for Sori to suffer the same faith. Roits have started in the match against Florentina, bottles were sent the refs' way and one of them was hit. That encouraged the players and their coach to treat the refs in the same way. The coach, the team captain, the well-experienced goalie Ferrari and one of the key players, center Brlečić all got suspended. Brlecic scored 4 goals out of the total 6 his team scored in that game and that says it all about his importance. The 6-8 defeat which was registered as a 0-5 defeat probably saw Sori lose any chance of reaching Champions League. They cannot win anyone away and will not play any more home games as part of the sanctions. Savona took advantage of Acquachiara slips to slowly get closer to the team from Naples in spot 6. Their chances of reaching the Top 6 are great, especially if Acquachiara loses in Trieste because they meet Recco home and play Brescia away the next two rounds. Savona are to play Sori, which are safe three points, Lazio away and Bogloasco home, which is a great chance. They stood no chance against Recco last round but they should dominate on account of Sori's lack of quality and all the players they will be without. Details

Goal margin increased to 18.5 from 16.5, which is too much for this game. The first one is more realistic. In the seven previous games in the Champions League, Primorje did not go over this margin, Olympiakos only in away games against the weakest teams in the group, Spandau and Jadran. Offense has not been Primorje's strong suit this season, which could be seen in all serious games where they struggled even when they had an extra player. Olympiakos filled the hole on their goal with Pavic and he saves at least two goals that the Greek goalkeepers would not save. Home team's coach says that they have to build their success on defense, it's the only way they can do that. Jug proved they can play without Perrone, but only against Primorje. The Hungarians have not lost at home in almost two years. They recently defeated Pro Recco here, but they are not in such good form now. Jug's best players are the centers, but Szolnoki have good players in that position as well.
