France aren't a team anyone can trash but still, they are not as big an underdogs as they were against Montenegro and Italy. Both of those teams had odds sets at 1,05 in those games. Montenegro had 5-0 at half time, Italy had +4 a few times. The US were 6-1 up with just a few minutes left in the game. Had they had better extra-player efficiency, they would have had bigger advatnage.
What's important is that France had scored just one goal in the first 30 minutes. We now have Spain, who seem better than Montenegro and the US and seem at least close to Italy. With Croatia failing, they became the contenders for a medal. The whole team seems better than at Euro- MOlina is at a high level, Echenique far better than at Primorje. If they beat Croatia by 5, they have to beat France by at least 3. Sheer logic, their bigger quality and performances here all suggest that.
