    Magna and Palma played Cup finals. Magna had two tough games, knocked out Barcelona after penalty shootout (2-2) and lost to El Pozo (1-4). The day before, Palma lost to El Pozo seemingly easily (1-4) but that was a game which they could have won. Both teams are exhausted from the Cup but Magna finished with more 'casualties'. They will have even shorter roster tomorrow, team captain Eseverri and Marel are out, just like Yoshikawa and Victor. Amagna are well experienced and won't rush into anything, especially in a situation like this against opponents who are just as experienced and capable of punishing any mistakes. On the other hand, the visiting coach said he is interesting only in three points because they can be crucial in catching up with Jean and Peniscola int he race for spot 4. Looking at Magna's results, we see that the number of their goals decreases as the season advances. That often happens in Spanish league. They have 17 unders and 11 overs at this margin (6,5), while Palma have 15/10. Looking at the last 5 meetings by both teams, only Palma had one over. Defense are getting tougher, playoffs is closer and everyone wants as good a spot as possible. I don't see how this could finish with 7 or more goals.

    Romanian top player Neagu not playing was all over the media while the fact the Spanish have the new coach who has never coached a female team and who has 7 new players gets ignored. Spain's players are 21,5 years on average. They are without Pena, Mangue, Oinedo. Romanians won the SO in 2014 and bronze last season at WC. Those players are on the team now.
    This is not the first time they play without Neagu. They did the same at the last EC in Sweden and beat Germany 23-22 in the game for spot 5. That game was played by basically all the players who will be here today. Romania finished that in spot 5, Spain in spot 11. Romania won the last h2h in Rio 24-21 (16 goals were scored by players who won't be there on Romania, 9 goals by players who won't be there on the Spanish team). Just two weeks earlier, in July of 2016 in Norway, they played a 21-21 draw. Neagu was not there, but neither were many other young players.     Mayer had a lot of injury struggles which forced him to start this season later. He retired in the opening match and didn't do great at the last two tournaments either. But he lost to well-experienced challenger player Ceccinato and a player of ATP quality who made a comb back (Bolelli). He limited Lama to 4 games, Sorgi to 4 two days ago. That is important because he lost to Sorgi late last season. He fired 9 aces, won 87 percent of first serve points. That is a good sign. His motivation is not questionable because he is trying to get back into Top 100. Only wins can get his confidence back. He might not record easy win but he has 5 unders at 19,5 and one over when it comes to wins on hard court. He is now to face the weakest name on the list. Zukas is a qualifier who beat Londer in main draw. That is his first CH win at second CH tournament. He never played a Top 100 player and has 0-5 against Top 300. He lost by 6 to Munar, by 4 to Quiroz, 9 to Linzer, 9 to Dutra and 10 to Kicker. Last season he played two challengers and won two games against Jarry in qualifiers, three games against Dutra in main draw. Early this month, Munar limited him to 6 games at hard court. Motivated Mayer shouldn't allow more. Details

    This is the last third round of group stage at the Asian championship. Both teams have two convincing defeats after the first two rounds. Who ever wins this will finish in spot three and get int he playoffs for spots 5-8. The most prominent thing about these two teams is their inefficiency. They did play some top level teams but Iran scored 30 goals from 77 shots in the two games (32 against China, 43 against Korea). Also, they scored goals one fastbreak goal and one from a 9-meter distance. Vietnam have almost identical numbers in both games (21 goal from 71 attempts, not one goal from fastbreak, only 4 attempts from 9 meters and no goals). Vietnam have 12 players on the roster, most of whom were born in '95 and '96.
    With an average of some 74-75 shots, both teams should have very high efficiency (75-80%) in order for this game to go over 50 goals. They didn't meet before but the meetings they had with Hong Kong could be used as relevant here. Vietnam played a 24-24 tie with Hong Kong at Southeast Asia Championship in 2015 in Vietnam. Iran beat Hong Kong 22-14 (12-4) the same year in the race for spots 5-8. The margin is hyped mostly because of Korea and China pace.
