Both teams in desperate need of points

Cannes got three points from the last two matches, which is not what was expected, and Paris are now threatening their top spot. Nantes are still fighting to exit the danger zone and have been doing better the last few matches

Cannes got only there points from matches with Tourcing and Narbonne despite expecting at least 5 given their place in the table and their performances up till now. They squandered the 2-0 lead over Tourcing and managed to make a comeback after being down 2-1 in Narbonne. That left them in the top spot but no one at the team is particularly happy. 

- We can't be happy with the last two matches. The win over Tours made us complacent and we let our guard down which resulted in only 3 points against teams from the bottom part of the table - setter Pujol admitted.

The schedule keeps on being favorable as Cannes face another team from the bottom of the table. Three points are a must for Kolakovic's team today. The won the first match in Nantes convincingly in straight sets but Nantes were deep in a crisis back then.

- We need to get three points on Friday. It doesn't matter if we do it in three or four sets. They improved lately and fight to avoid relegation. Playing those kind of teams is tough because they nothing to lose - receiver Gommans said.

Nantes got 4 points from the last 3 matches, which is nearly as many as they had before. The atmosphere got better and their game too, with regards to its almost every segment. Staying in the league now seems like a realistic option again. Nantes beat Saint Nazaire away than lost to Ajaccio home for the first time but managed to get a point. The match with Sete was, however, a complete failure, as the opponents left them with no points.

That Sete match was Nantes' poorest performance lately, even though they managed to win the first set. But, Nantes went on to win only 47 points in the next three to remind the fans why exactly they are the second worst team in the table. Overall, Nantes failed to take advantage of the fact they were two matches short of Montpellier, who are now 4 points up.

- We weren't at the level from the last two matches against Sete. We were tired since that was our 3rd match in week. The next one in Cannes will be our 4th one in 10 days - coach Denmar said.

That kind of situation means Nantes have to do their best to win points in every match, with the pressure growing each next round. The players must already feel it.

- Nantes belong to Ligue A and we need to prove that. It won't be easy, we made things quite complicated but we're still after the spot 12. We will try and play a good match in Cannes to try and win - the coach said.
