Buducnost - Krka (70:68)

Buducnost are without the only real five, Jaleel Akindele

Dzikic became the new coach for the Macedonian national team, but he'll keep his job in Krka

Buducnost will host the Slovenian Krka on Moraca in the last match of the year. The Montenegrin team are currently at the fourth position of the league table with the ratio 8-5, and this match is extremely important for them to continue their run of good games and the fight for the place at the Final Four. Krka are in a bit worse position with a 6-7 ratio, but they'd gain a lot with a potential win in this match, as they would get closer to the leading ones, and they'll definitely be very highly motivated for this match. 

Buducnost conquered Mega Vizura in the last round on their own court, but they had some trouble getting the two points. They had a double-digit advantage a few times, and the opportunity to solve all of their dilemmas, but the guests kept coming back. The decision about the winner was made in the middle of the last quarter, when the blue ones made a series 12-1 and made it to the 71-60. Mega threatened, got to minus four (75-71), but they couldn't do more.

- It was a tough game for us. Even though Mega are the youngest team in the league, they gave us a hard time, but the most important thing is that we got the two points. We should fix the mistakes we made, we'll have more time to get ready for the next match. We hope that we'll make less rookie mistakes in the following games and that we'll calmly end the games with 10 or more points difference, not be getting into uncertain final moments - Suad Sehovic said after the game. He scored 14 points in that game and was one of the best individuals of his team. 

Besides him, Nikola Ivanovic made an impression with 16 points, and Mihailovic and Akindele with 14. The bad news is Akindele's injury after that match. He's the only real center in the team, and he definitely won't be playing against Krka, which could be a big handicap for the Montenegrin team. Point guard Capin was already injured, and he still didn't recover from the back and hip injury. 

- We managed to cover Capin's absence, we played a lot of good matches without him, but Akindele is a typical center. He's good in the jump control and defense with his 210 cm, and he's been playing better as the season went on. It's a big handicap, we'll have to play a lot faster and more aggressive than when he was on the court, and we'll have to make better blocks and secure the basket so we don't allow the opponent to use their advantages in the height under the basket - Buducnost coach Igor Jovovic announced before the game against Krka.

Now Cedomir Vitkovac, Bojan Subotic, William Coleman, and Milos Komatin have to cover up for Akindele's effect. Krka are known for a good offensive jump, and that could be a problem for Buducnost.

- We're playing against an organized team who showed they have what's possibly the best defense in the league. In the games when they manage to numb out the opponent's rhythm and reduce them to a low number of points, they almost always win. We have to be cautious and show quality in the offense, make good calls and solutions against the organized and pretty narrow defense they have. We have to stop their counterattacks, which help them score a lot of easy points from the defense - Jovovic concluded.

Krka are in a good shape, they won in the last four matches, and picked up their level of play significantly compared to the middle of the season. Krka celebrated in the away game against Szolnoki in the last round with their most powerful weapon, aggressive defense. They limited the Hungarians to only 55 points and reminded us of the beginning of the season when they had some great matches. 

The best ones in that match were Sani Becirovic with 13 points, Hukic with 11, and Buljan had 10 points - the three of them were the only ones with double-digit score in their team. The deciding segment was that Krka allowed the Hungarians only one three-pointer, they stood very close to the players, and they scored 6 three-pointers.

It's obvious Sani Becirovic brought the needed push to the Krka team in the last few matches. He brought a lot in both directions and has proved to be a big reinforcement for his team. In this match, the backcourt will have a hard task. Muric, Klobucar, and Becirevic will lead a big fight against Sehovic, Mihailovic and Popovic, and that will definitely be the most interesting fight in this match. Pavic and Booker might have more opportunities under the basket and we can expect Krka to try and attack through those two. 

- We'd gain so much if we win this match. We know it will be extremely difficult, Buducnost are a great team and we have to do our best for a good result - Krka coach Aleksandar Dzikic announced.

It's interesting that Krka coach became the new coach for the Macedonian national team before this match, but according to the latest info, he'll keep the Krka coaching job as well.

Buducnost are made too much of a favorite here, in my opinion, and there are a few reasons for that. Krka are in a very good form, with four consecutive wins and the atmosphere in the team is great. Becirevic's arrival got them the extra width in the backcourt, and I think that they can be a great match for Buducnost there. The second thing is that Akindele won't be playing for Buducnost, and he's the only real center in the team, so they could have a lot of problems with the jump, and that could be an extra handicap for Buducnost. Krka have a high number of offensive jumps in every match, and that's their chance to surprise. Since Capin is still missing from the team, this seems to be a very good bet...
