Neftekhimik terminating contracts with forwards

In the last six rounds the home team scored only four goals, which set their new negative record. Anisin could be next on the termination list

On paper, Neftekhimik have one of the best offenses in the Eastern Conference, but unfortunately paper cannot score goals. The team from Nizhnekamsk continued their negative series on Friday, with an almost unbelievable poor scoring efficiency. They have set a couple of new negative records. Never before have they scored only four goals in six games, and this is what happened in the last six rounds. Moreover, never before did they earn only two points in nine games. They managed to do this as well.
  
Since their defeat in Zagreb, they are not the same team we witnessed at the beginning of the season. The best example was their last game against Lokomotiv. The same thing happened again - they took 34 shots and scored only once. They have four consecutive losses with the same final score 1-2. 

ATLANT Moscow Region

Power play is also really poor and in fact the only man to play up to task is their goalkeeper Alexander Sudnitsin. But he cannot score goals. This should be a job for Branko Radivojevic and Sergej Demagin. Since they have utterly failed at it, the club decided on a premature termination of their contracts.
 
- The decision was made last night. It has to do primarily with the fact the team is not playing at an expected level and we have no results - said coach Vladimir Krikunov.

Local Russian media report the club could terminate the contract with their most famous forward  Mikhail Anisin, who has been out of shape for a while. The club did not wish to confirm the information. It is only known he suffered a minor injury and is questionable for the game against Atlant.
 
Atlant have been playing very good lately with great results, in line with their great need for points given the fact they occupy the last place leading to playoffs. In the second part of the season, big battles will be fought for the playoffs, so every point is extremely important for Atlant, especially in an away game.
 
After a firm resistance, but also a defeat to Magnitke, Atlant have achieved a very important victory over Traktor in a game they were playing short-handed for a certain amount of time, since forward Artyukhin was suspended for roughness. They received two short-handed goals, but this did not stop them. Their offense is playing better lately which is good news for the otherwise very defensive team. Enqvist brought victory for his team, with two scored goals and an assist for the third, which earned him a title of the player of the game.
  
In today's game they again have the opportunity to achieve a good result against an opponent who might not be at their level, and are also in a poor form. Their excellent defense should decide the game. Atlant play one of the best defenses in the Western Conference lately, and their offense is also improving.
  
- Again, we had a large number of penalties, which is not good, but we again played really courageously and I thank the guys for that. We deserved to win, we fought fiercely and I hope our fans are happy - said Atlant’s coach Aleksej Kudashov.

Five players will be absent for the game - Atyushov, Sanguietti, Haataja, Mihnov, Mayorov - and Artyukhin is suspended, but Atlant’s players have shown they can cope with it and this should not pose a problem.

These odds simply have no connection to reality. The home team scored four goals in their last six games and on no occasion more than one in a game. They are playing disastrous offense, and their main star is the goalie. That situation led them to start letting offensive players go, so Radivojevic and Demagin got fired prior too this game, both renowned names in the team, but not performing. This can only weaken them. There is nothing nice to say about Anisin either, who is the biggest star of the team.There is talk of terminating the contract in his case as well, the situation does not sound nice, and he is injured too. It is very uncertain that he will play here and one wonders if can he help them at all. Atlant are a top notch defensive team, who have been playing particularly good defense lately. In their last seven games they took three goals on only one occasion, vs the mighty Magnitka. They have a very tough, closed game and lately have not conceded three goals to much stronger teams than the disastrous home team, who have now fired their main offensive players. Considering all that, this sounds like a great bet.
