There should be an abundance of goals at Bentegodi

Both teams are scoring a lot recently and Parma's starting goalkeeper is suspended while Verona is missing two important defenders due to injury

Verona is living its football renaissance and the systematic progress of the club in the last four years continues in the Serie A as well. United with their massive army of supporters, Verona gives impressive performances and in the opening seven rounds Mandorlini's team have four wins, while they were only defeated in two away games against the leading teams of the league, Juventus and Roma. After consecutive wins against Livorno and Bologna, everyone in Verona want the win against Parma who played their last league game here at Bentegodi 12 years ago. There is plenty of reason for optimism because they knocked Parma out of the cup two seasons ago, even though Verona played the second league then and the match was played at the Tardini stadium.

Mandorlini didn't skyrocket after Verona's good start:
- Is there too much enthusiasm? I am not interested in that, I don't look what is happening outside. We are in for a tough and important match. After the break you never know what's coming. Cassano? He is an incredible talent that could have done better in his career.

Mandorlini called 26 players for this match and the injured defenders Maietta and Moras are not among those, while the striker Ragatzu joined them for the first time. The absence of their center-backs are a problem for Mandorlini who stated in his announcement of the match that Marques will start alongside Gonzalez in the center of the defense and not Bianchetti. Marques is the thirty year old Brazilian defender who arrived to Verona from Atletico Mineiro this summer, and so far he only played seven minutes in the Serie A. Additional motivation for Mandorlini is the homage to their former club president Martinelli who deceased during the week. The two were very close as it was Martinelli who brought Mandorlini to Verona when they were in the third league.

Parma are celebrating their centennial but the start of the season isn't promising to their fans who had high hopes, given that the club signed some prominent names during the summer. After just two points from first four rounds, Parma finally woke up and after two home wins against Atalanta and Sassuolo, they notched a valuable point from Florence. Their strikers finally started working and they scored nine goals in just three matches while it is interesting that their main striker Amauri still hasn't scored in the league this season.

Parma's coach Donadoni wasn't surprised by the successful start of Verona:

- I am not surprised by their position on the league table. They are a new team in the league but not only do they have enthusiasm, they have players with excellent technique and experience. Their biggest threat is Toni who plays on a high level. We worked well during the last two weeks and there is no reason to think negatively.

During their last week's match with Sassuolo, Parma managed to win despite that they were without goalkeeper Mirante during the whole second half, because he was sent off for causing a penalty kick. Nevertheless Rosi and Cassano brought Parma the valuable three points. The goalkeeper's position was taken by young Bajza who made his season's debut in Serie A, and he did well. The young Slovak goalkeeper appeared only in forty minutes in the league last season and now he will start as Parma's goalkeeper for the first time. The guests are missing the injured midfielder Galloppa, defender Paletta and striker Okaka, while Donadoni's only dilemma regarding the starting line-up is due to the physical fitness of midfielder Gargano and attacking winger Biabiany. Both of them should be ready enough to start from the first minute.

Both teams are in great scoring form, which in itself is an enticing fact when betting on over. Luca Toni will be the central man in a three-man offense, and the creative Cassano is making an appearance next to big Amauri, who is still waiting for his first goal. Another good indicator for an over is the fact that both team have significant problems with defense. Parma's first goalkeeper Mirante is absent, which means their young goalie Bajza will play his first minutes, while Verona on the other hand cannot count on their important center backs Maietta and Moras, which will mean Marques will be playing his first minutes in the Serie A. Goals should be in ample supply.
