Home team facing Ekstraklasa's best defense without their best scorer

Zawisza have no natural forwards left which means the coach will have to change, while the home team look to improve their away record after the great win against Legija

Newly promoted team didn't manage to win three points just like their competition in the home match with Korona. To make things even worse, that was Korona's first away win in over a year. The situation was far from ideal for the home team after failing to use the opportunity to catch up with the teams from the middle part of the championship table. However, the break was perfectly timed for them. They managed to pull themselves together and reach the Cup quarter final in a 1-0 win, which is a notable achievement. They beat second division team GKS Katowice away having had a thrilled finish once again.

Coach wanted to rest some players for the match with Wisla so he took only 15 players to Katowice. The match with Wisla is important and winning the points in that game is a priority. After two consecutive championship losses, the Cup win reestablished the necessary stability and boosted their confidence. However, they did lose their best player in that game - forward Vasconcelos who is their best scorer (five goals in the championship, one in Cup). That means that they will have to do without a natural forward today because Abbott has been injured for a while now.

Vasconcelos wouldn't play today anyway having been booked in the last match, but his muscle injury is a great handicap for the team, especially because he might be out for three to four weeks.

- If the worst should happen and we lose them for three or four weeks, that would be terrible because we virtually have no other forward left. We have a few options, but still haven't decided on one. There must be changes in the starting line up - said Tarasiewicz who, other than the aforementioned forwards, can't count on defender Skrzynski who didn't play in Katowice either.

Home teams coach will most likely relocate one of his midfielders to the forward position. It will probably be new signing Luis Carlos who joined this summer. 

The visiting team are still celebrating the great win against last season's champion Legija which happened two weeks ago. The win is courtesy of forward Broszek, who proved to be among this summer's best signings. He got back to his old club and managed to meet all the expectations having scored 6 goals so far and currently holding the best scorer title.

However, Wisla's strong side is not him, but team game oriented on defense. They are the only unbeaten team, and only five goals conceded speak volumes for their defense. 

Legija's leading position (three points ahead) doesn't seem unreachable any longer. The visiting team's goal in this match are the three points which might put them in the leading position with Legija. They really want to win especially because they managed to do it only once away. Only their right back Smuda will miss the game, but he'll most likely be replaced by Chavez who just got back from Honuduras national team campaign.

- Games like this one with Zawiszom are never simple. The promoted teams who are fighting to stay in the league always do their best, especially home. We have to provide extra motivation for the players not to get too confident - said Smuda who missed a few training last week due to a cold.

New first division team Zawisza are doing well in their new environment. They've surprised everyone with their offensive potential and attacking approach, but in this match they will miss their top scorer Vascncelos (the first marksman of the Cypriot league) who has already scored five goals since he arrived at the club. Coach Tarasiewicz doesn't have an appropriate replacement for him and someone from the midfield will have to take his role. It has to be mentioned that they have no natural striker in their lineup. It's true, their midfield is also dangerous and is able to do plenty of demage, but at what extent they would be able to do that remains to be seen, considering that they face the best defense in the league and the only undefeated team after 11 rounds. This is the first time that the home team will face such strong opponent. Wisla are literally flying this season, especially after victory over Legia. In that match they proved that they are candidates for much greater achievements then they originally intended. Three points difference between them and the league leaders Legia (yesterday Gornik took over the top spot after winning against Slaska) now appears attainable and there is no doubt that the old fox on Wisla's bench, Smuda, will know how to do his job till the end and of course in this match. Teamwork is the most important attribute in visitors’ team, along with league's first marksman, experienced Broszek. I'm convinced that Wisla won't lose this one. Moreover, they are closer to victory, but I'll go for more cautious approach that returns investment even if game ends with draw.
