    The quarter-finals of the German Cup have only 1 game. Whoever wins the game today goes to the Cup Final Four. Oldenburg haven't taken part in the final tournaments since 2002.     Regardless of the outcome of this game, it might be registered as a 20-0 win for Kyiv, as Goverla have still not reported paying the required funds to the Superleague of Ukraine. The result mentioned was the one with which the recent game between Donjeck and Goverla was registered. In the actual game Goverla lost by 21 points. Before that, they lost with the same spread vs Azovmas. The form of the home team has been dropping for some time now, and Goverla are generally not a convincing home team. They lost vs two of the worst teams in the league, Dnjipr and Dnjipro-Azot, at home. They managed to beat Kyiv in the first bout, but back then the best player among them was point guard Young with 20 points, who has not been playing for a while now due to an injury, and this is obviously a big issue. We should point out that Goverla are playing the Final Four of the Cup on Saturday, and the players' thoughts could easily be on that match already.     MMTS and Pulawy are pretty similar teams and you can see that from their head-to-heads in recent seasons. These are the games without a clear favorite and that is the case today. I should reiterate that MMTS got their bronze last year against Pulawy as they won the series by 2-1. Despite the result this fall, MMTS have the advantage here and I will go for the bet that certainly has a value at these odds. Realistically speaking, MMTS are a good team which lacked organization and continuity in the first part of the season. Some players left and new players arrived which needed some fine tuning, as coach Kotwicki emphasized constantly. Despite that, they've played a few great games at home and they've shown they can be dangerous. That's how they lost the game against Kielce by a narrow margin and took a point against Wisla, while their only real home blunder was the defeat against Glogow. They have handled their preparations - a great game against KPR that definitely lifted their spirits and the coach announced the campaign for the 5th spot which they will be able to get only if they win at home. MMTS really need these 2 points and based on the defense they played in the last round, I think they can beat Pulawy. The fact that only away wins for Pulawy came against the teams involved in the relegation battle makes these odds great for e medium stake, which would be even higher had MMTS not had such variable performances. Travica has been a great organizer of Belgorod's offense lately and coach Shipulin said he expects a great performance from his team, which means they should cover this handicap as Trentino are not the same team without Sokolov. A good option is set handicap (-2.5) on Belgorod but it has already lost its value. An alternative is under of points for both teams (Belgorod 75.5, Trentino 61.5) offered by Bet 365.     I usually don't like these kinds of bets in the NBA but I think the situation simply calls for it. True, the Wolves are without Nikola Peković but the list of absences for the away team is much longer. Kobe Bryant and Xavier Henry are out for quite some time, Jordan Farmar is also probably out while Steve Blake and Steve Nash are in doubt. Personally, I wouldn't mind Nash playing as he is a few days away from his 40th birthday and I don't believe the Lakers gain anything with him on the court. In fact, I'd rather think they lose, considering his long break. Any decent player can go through him, especially as he doesn't have center to watch his back like Howard did last year. But, the main reason for this pick is the absence of Pau Gasol who didn't travel with his team. I have said on several occasions that he is their best player this season and the most important part of their attack, which could tonight be reduced to shooting practice by Nick Young and Jodie Meeks, and this usually doesn't end well. The Lakers have lost 18 out of 21 games, including 6 in a row. In each of their last 14 games, they have allowed at least 100 points and their average in 2014 is 112.1 points allowed per game - the highest tally in the league. Before that game in which the Pens dominated but only won in OT, the Sense were beaten by the Maple Leafs by 6-3 and now they're facing even stronger Blues after a long trip from Pittsburgh to Missouri. So, Ottawa are tired and injury-ridden and they are without their two first team players - their first-line back player Phillips and their forward Stone. In addition, the Blues have 6 wins in last 10 games, 4 in last 5, while Ottawa have as many defats. Out of last 6 defeats, Ottawa lost three in a handicap and that was when they were in a better physical and team situation than the one today, while the Blues are a team that grinds their opponents and I believe this handicap is worth taking as it has a value due to too high odds.     The fourth challenge for the Arnheim team are AZ Alkmar, who showed great form at the start of 2014, easily winning three games, and only losing the Eindhoven one due to bad realization.     These odds would be somewhat realistic had Cindrić stayed in Karlovac but this way, everything above 1.5 on the home team seems too high. His departure to Metalurg cost the visitors their player with most goals and assists, and the best player in the Premijer Liga, according to many handball fans in Croatia. He should have been replaced by Peraica but he has some injury problems and will be gone for a month, so Požega will probably start as the playmaker who seemed quite sluggish in the preparatory tournament in Karlovac some 3 weeks ago. The other option is the inexperienced U-18 national team player Smojver. Coupled with the fact that their left back Borozan has some groin problems, it will be interesting to see what Karlovac's attack will look like in the end. It will probably include a lot of balls for the pivot and as Dubrava's defense is very mobile, it's not likely that this will be an easy task. So, the visitors should rely on their defensive abilities that have usually been their stronger weapon. But the fact is that they will also have to play good offense (which I highly doubt) as Dubrava are great in the transition and use the mistakes of their opponents very well and score a lot of goals against unorganized defense. The fact is that the visitors didn't show too much discipline in the preparation tournament and this could be very costly today. Karlovac struggled a lot against Dubrava at home then, Cindrić scored 7 goals (their top scorer) while the visitors played without Dumenčić, as one of their best back players and their keepers got only 5 saves. This kind of performance is not likely to be repeated today and the hosts are much bigger favorites here than the odds would suggest. Details

    Borna Čorić is the future of world tennis, there's no doubt. But, he was unlucky with his draw here. Berrer has played in the finals in Zagreb twice. He always plays his best tennis here and he showed that in the qualifiers. He stormed through three matches, losing only 1 serve in the process. Borna is playing his first match of the season while the German has 11 matches behind him. This alone is a huge advantage for the veteran player, but it's not crucial. Borna said that he wants to avoid Stepanek as his game doesn't suit him. The German has a somewhat similar style as he can finish the points forward and his backhand slice is tricky for most players. It was clear last year when Berrer gave him a lesson here. True, Borna is one year older but he is still 17. This is all good for his experience and Zagreb is the most successful tournament in Berrer's career. Taking all into consideration, I expect a convincing win by Berrer. Details

    This will be duel of two different styles of basketball. The margin for total points is at a high 167.5, while Samara went over 160 only once this season, vs Oradea in the Eurochallenge, when the game totaled 163. On the other hand we have Oktyabr, whose basketball style is now common knowledge. The rookies in the league are playing run-and-gun, and although their coach repeatedly voiced his displeasure with the defense, the players have yet to show some major progress. Bazarevič, who coaches Samara, pointed out this game was one of the key matches in the battle for the playoff, and I believe we will see Samara in their best edition today.
    I had a choice of several options, such as handicap on the home team, or under on the total, but in the end I chose under on the away team, kind of a middle ground. I believe we will not be seeing a 170+ point game, but Oktyabr's defense does not inspire much confidence, despite all the issues Samara have on offense. On the other hand, in the 20 games Samara played in all the competitions this season, it was in only three that they allowed the opponents to score over 79.5, in away games vs Triumf and Riga, where they conceded precisely 80, and in a home game vs the mighty Himki, when they were weaker and demolished early in the game. Oktyabr play better at home, and it was Samara that limited them to the least points scored in Volgograd, only 74.
