    The announcements from the ranks of Panathinaikos all speak in favor of this bet. A return to the home ambiance motivated this team to the fullest and their announcements only mention defense. This has usually meant limiting the opponents to low figures and I wouldn't be surprised if Lietuvos are frozen at 60-65 points, even less. On the other hand, Lietuvos had turned to defense a lot more under Bauermann. After a bad performance in Belgrade, his players responded just 2 days later and limited the offensively potent Donjeck to only 68 points. Lietuvos could be ready for a good defensive performance against Panathinaikos as well. Their game in the paint should suffer the most, but Lasme's potential absence could make things easier in this respect. Considering the defense PAO are announcing, Lietuvos will have a hard time emulating that performance.     Judging by what both teams have shown this season, we could see another low-figure game. The first game in France ended with 121 points and CSKA should do better in offense but they probably won't score over 80 points. Nanterre have proved to have a solid defense this season, they allowed over 80 points only in Istanbul last week with 25 by Fenerbahce in the last quarter. Fenerbahce are more offensively minded than CSKA and the Muscovites have allowed 86 in their away game. Nanterre will have a tough job in offense without Gladyr and CSKA are going into this game with maximum rest, the game in France was the best warning for Nanterre's capabilities. When CSKA's defense is at a top level then opposition stays well below 60 like Partizan last week. CSKA's home games this season - apart from Partizan, the opposition were all offensively minded teams and only Riga managed to get the game to 143 points. It should be the same today as Nanterre without Gladyr will have a hard time going over 62-63 points and CSKA went over 80 points only against Azovmaš (83) and Partizan last week.     After the game in Prague, Forejt talked about the defense after God knows how much time. Jindrichuv finally put some effort there and it paid off. Today's game will show whether this was just a flash of brilliancy or whether Jindrichuv will change their style.     When properly motivated, Dijon can play one hell of a defense, to which even much better teams have no answer. Borg's statement gives one reason to believe that Dijon will take this game very seriously, which was not the case in the previous two rounds. Both against Antwerp and Tarvas they conceded way below 30 in the first half, only to play a more relaxed defense in the second, and concede over 40. That should not be so today. Dijon made the best case for how good they are when they are fully focused in the national championship. Den Bosch on the other hand have trouble playing on two fronts, which shows in their championship games so far. Their coach said, before the competition begun, that they will try to get easy points, and if that fails, turn to slower tempo and positional offense.     Nanterre have been playing great at the beginning of the season, regardless of the two defeats in a row. The one in Istanbul can hardly be considered a failure, quite the opposite, they gave a great resistance to the amazing Turkish team, and it left a great impression after the game. Nanterre failed in the home team against Le Mans, but they're a team that's ready to fight for a high placement, and that can defeat anyone in the league. Orleans started the season great, but I think they'll be put down today. Herve himself said after the first four wins that is' more of a fruit of the mental strength of his players, rather than them being dominant in the league. Orleans got away in most of their games, winning two through injury time, and were left 15 points behind Orthez. Last week, they defeated Cholet with 18 three-pointers and the incredible 52% of shots. Today, they can hardly do it again, Nanterre know where the biggest danger is coming from, and they'll start with a lot more intensity on the Orleans' backcourt. The guests are a team of three-pointers, and they depend on the backcourt a lot, so they have big problems if they're limited in that part. You could see it against Limoges (10/31 three pointers). Besides, Curti not playing is an extra blow for their already limited roster. Nanterre confirmed their quality on their home court this season, crushing Budivelnik, ASVEL, Antibes, almost defeating CSKA, and I think they'll get a convincing win today. Two consecutive defeats, as well as the duel for the first position should be a great motivation for Donnadieu's players. Nanterre celebrated in both games on their own court in the last season, +15 last year, and they have more quality now than they did then. I think they'll get a new two-digits number win today.     This will be an extremely difficult game for the Parisians, everything except for the win would jeopardize their placement to the second round. That would be a huge debacle for a team that was created with the title of the European champion in mind. Today, they're facing Thun, who have trouble with injuries, besides the lack of quality. Rubin can't count on the first playmaker Caspar, or Isailovic, and the experienced Chalkidis is also questionable. The Swiss team base their success firstly on the tough defense, they lack the offensive potential, and I think this margin is too high. In four games so far, Thun didn't score over 26 goals once, and they managed to do it in Blaugrane, with 15 in the rest of the game, when the game was already long decided. It's true that the Parisians have been playing very badly in the defense this season so far, but this game is crucial for them, and I doubt they'll have another weak start.     I had to think long and hard on this bet, but the longer I spent thinking, he less reasons against it I could find. The margin is very high, the highest I ever took on this portal, but I still believe that of the four games with these two teams, at least three would go over. Both Oktyabr and Neptunas are teams that play run'n'gun basketball to the fullest extent of the expression.     Much was said in the preview. Bonichiolli was very angry after the Volgograd match, demanding much stronger defense, and we can expect his players to react today. Astana played very efficient games at start of the season, but their opponents allowed that. This is also a very important game as these two teams are in direct competition for the playoffs, and we can expect a somewhat tougher game on both sides. Minsk is a team that can play efficient games, but can also go hard on defense where they need. This week they played an away game in Bulgaria vs an offensively focused team and allowed the opponents to score only 73 points. Their first Eurochallenge game also ended below this margin. Of the VTB league games, three went over the margin, but both Krasny Oktyabr and Neptunas are teams with perhaps the quickest pace in the game, and Riga is also focused more on offense than defense. The matches with Azovmas and CSKA, two defensively strong teams, only confirmed that Minsk can hold on defense when they need to. I think we are going to see a much tougher game than the margins suggest, as they are a result of the first few games played by Astana, but Bonichiolli himself pointed out that this situation is unacceptable. Astana played 11 away games last year ("home" games vs Spartak and UNICS were also palyed away), and only two of those went above this margin, while the backbone players of the team remained together.     Olimpija played very tough at the start of the season, and have scored more than 67 points on 2 occasions this season - away at super-fast Ulm and last weekend in Hungary when they scored 71 points and beat Szolnoki. This was their first ABA League win this season. The Slovenian team put all their hopes in defense, they kept Varese at 59 points at home, and the mighty Valencia at 64. However, their attack is pretty barren and rarely reaches high figures. On the other hand, Paris have had an ambitious start of the season, but the change of coaches and several players required a certain period of transition. They were terrible at the start of the season, Beugnot was angry at their defensive performances which resulted in a great reaction from his players in the last 2 games. First they limited ASVEL to 65 points in the Eurocup last week and then they limited Strasbourg to 75 in regular tim in their championship. Today's margin is a result of stats, but Paris's form is on the rise and their defense is improving, while the game in Germany provides an artificial increase for Olimpija's average. They played a low-figure game at home against Valencia and I think this game should be about 70 points each. Since Paris have much better chance than the odds suggest, an under for the home seems like the best choice for me. Details

    This margin is purely statistical, and statistics can be very deceiving in this case. Nancy played three games this season with higher numbers, going over this margin twice, and all three on the away games. They started the games against Dijon and Le Havre with -20 after the first quarter, which caused the game to go to higher numbers, while Pau Orthez force a fast game. Home games against Gravelines and Nanterre gave a picture of what we should be seeing today. On the other hand, Roanne clearly show what they want - to tame Nancy's offense, slow down the game, and end the game with as few points as possible. Roanne conceded over this margin only eight times in the 33 games last season in the regular time, with six out of those eight times conceding 77, 78, or 79 points. This season, they haven't conceded more than 75 in any game. I don't think Nancy will have an easy task scoring near 80 points, quite the opposite, I expect them under 75. Last season, it was 58-45 for Nancy on this court, also at the beginning of the season, and now Samnick points out that Roanne are better than they were same time last season. Details

    The game in Krasnodar will be a clash between the two teams that are in great form. It seems like the game will be tough, and the winner decided in the finish. We've said a lot about UNICS in the preview, they conceded more than 72 points this season only to Enisey, who play a pretty fast game. On the other hand, Lokomotiv had great results at the start to the season, but a more detailed analyses reveals they always scored less against stronger opponents. They scored 51 and 68 points against Lietuvos, 58 against Maccabi, 72 against Panathinaikos. UNICS are playing good defense as well and I think it will be difficult for the home team to reach 75 points. Lokomotiv scored 70, 48, 58 in the last three head to head games played in Krasodar, and 65 and 68 in the play off last season. UNICS seem more organized this season, Trinchieri brought the extra quality and I think that the run will go on. Details

    This is a derby, the tensions are huge and you can expect a tough game here. Dijon's style is well known, the away team base everything on their defense. They concede 71 points on average, although they conceded 85 and 99 points in the first 2 games (after over-time). However, this was not real Dijon, they showed what they're made of in the last 3 games when they limited great teams to very low figures. On the other hand, Chalon are far from brilliant offensive performances. They've gone over this margin only twice in the league - against Le Mans, the game which was open from the start, and when they scored 75 against ASVEl with 53 % field goal percentage. Those numbers will not come by so easily today and the home team have to win, but it is very unfortunate to be playing against a team like Dijon. The tradition of their head-to-heads speaks in favor of Chalon but that is not the same team as in previous seasons, there is no Schilb, Lang, coach Beugnot. The game from the pre-season speaks in favor of this bet in as Dijon won this game by 83-70, even though it took place very early in the pre-season. Details

    After a great start to the season, Lietuvos are in a bit of a crises, but I think they're underestimated here. This game is very important for them following two consecutive defeats, and the players will certainly not lack motivation. The fans will give them additional boost home. Playing in Lithuania is never easy, Panathinaikos experienced it as well. I think the Greek team are currently better than Maccabi, who still have too many ups and downs in their game, despite a few good performances. I think the task today won't be easy to complete, I don't believe they will destroy Lietuvos, and I wouldn't even be surprised at all if they lost. Lietuvos are better home, their fans are providing them with the necessary strength and they sure won't lack fan support against Maccabi. I expect redemption today, and under for the visiting team is a great option as well, given Bauermann's reputation. Details

    Even though they won all the games, UNICS are still not playing well together since the beginning of the season. You can clearly see that in the offensive segment of their game, where they depend a lot on Goudelock's efficiency. However, they've been winning the games with their defense, so Enisey were the only ones who managed to score more than 72 points against them, and that's thanks to the last quarter. Riga, on the other hand, don't play as fast as they did the last season. Rowland leaving left a big hole in their offense potential, and the games they played so far confirmed that they're better in the defensively orientated games. They conceded 90 points against Khimki this weekend, but the guests had an incredible shots percentage, and I don't believe UNICS can repeat that. Butautas was disappointed with their approach in the middle part of the game, and today, we can expect them to be more aggressive. Riga proved they can have quality in the defense, mostly in Estonia and Ukraine, and maybe even against Lietuvos at the beginning of the season. This margin is a consequence of Riga's game in Israel last week, but I think we'll be seeing a different story here. Details

They've been traditionally passing by Pardubice more easily, but this team has about the same quality as the one last season (Chan instead of Mene). Prague lost with 30 difference on the home court then, and with 13 points difference in the away game. Pardubice kept most of their roster this season, and the rate of strength should be the same. Prague's strongest asset is the frontcourt, but Pardubice are the strongest in the league there, side by side with Nymburk. They can stop Votroubek and Chan, but that's where Prague story ends.     At the start of this season, Zalgiris confirmed that they are nowhere near the form of last season. Numerous departure from the club have weakened them and they will have work hard if they want to reach round two. They started struggling in their domestic championship, Siauliai should be happy with a defeat by 15 points, and they controlled the game on this occasion. Zouros's responsibility for this situation is questionable, but the board decided to change the coach to shake things up a bit. Strasbourg are aware that this game is one of the more decisive ones and they are coming aware that they can do something here. Zalgiris are nowhere near their offensive potential, and Strasbourg definitely can limit them. The Lithuanian champion have not gone over this margin in the first two games, and have stayed on about 80 points in the last 2. Strasbourg conceded 81 against the offensively minded Cholet and Collet was really angry at his defense. Strasbourg showed all their possibilities against Efes last week when they managed to limit them to 76 points. They conceded over 80 in Germany and Brose prefers a faster game and had a 57 % field goal efficiency in this game. Considering the importance of this game, I doubt this will happen again here. Only a crazy shooting spree could take Zalgiris to 80 points. Details

    The difference on the league table is definitely not the same as the difference in quality in reality. ASVEL are not that much worse than Nanterre, and the first win that Vincento's players got over the week definitely took a huge burden off the players' backs. Today, they have to confirm it in the championship, because it is a priority. Nanterre did great in the first games, winning three difficult away games, and earned a great capital before the rest of the season. They did use Paris' big problems, though, and Strasbourg weren't completely ready for their match at the beginning of the championship, while Nanterre got away against Nancy with a shot after the deliberately missed free throw that took the game to the overtime. Nanterre's results shouldn't be belittled because of this, but they can't be that much of a favorite against ASVEL in this game. Pascal Donnadieu's players had a debacle only two days ago against Pionir, and that rocked their self-confidence at least a little bit, but definitely took away a lot of their energy. Everyone knows that the French team regularly have bad results in the championship in the part of the season when they play Euroleague at the same time, and that could really show on Nanterre, because those kinds of games are news to them. They can win against ASVEL today, but I doubt it will be close to 10 points, like the margin suggests. I wouldn't be surprised if the guests won, quite the opposite, this game is a lot more important to them than it is for the guests, they're physically more rested, and in a better mood after passing European tests this week.     The margin went down for a few points, but I still think there's value to this bet. CSKA come to this game about only 40 hours after the game against Budivelnik in Euroleague. They had to travel yesterday, and I doubt we'll be seeing a fast game today. Besides, Budivelnik play a lot faster than Azovmas, so the game ended under this margin. CSKA don't have the best offense rhythm at the beginning of the season, but their defense functions awesome. You can see it on the results, Astana were left with only 54 points, and a very fast Riga with only 63. On the other hand, Azovmas played against the same Riga last weekend, and the game had 127 points. Their game was a bit more efficient against Neptunas, but that was the result of the opponent's game style. Today, on the other hand, they'll be facing one of the best defenses in Europe, and a team that won't be ending their offense actions fast. CSKA managed to keep the number of offense actions low against Budivelnik. Azovmas will be ready to accept that today, and I think we should be seeing a game with lower numbers.
