When you beat France and Serbia in test games and take two sets against Brazil, you can definitely say that that you are a good-quality team. That is precisely what Slovenia did. They have a talented team but didn't have a good coach. Andrea Giani is a good coach and I've seen a lot of Slovenia's test matches and I can say they are in great shape. Belarus, on the other hand, are not. They struggled with mediocre Russian clubs and lost to al kinds of teams. Coach Sidelnikov has a lot of young players on the team, 8 of which are about to play their first ever Eurovolley. Antanovic and Akhrem are gone. Sidelnikov said that if Slovenia play like in European League his team will not stand a chance. I think he really meant that. Belarus hosted those matches and lost easily anyway to Slovenia. They lost the first game 0-3, he second one 2-3 but by 25 points and even though Slovenia didn't have team captain Urnaut t count on. Belarus' biggest problem is reception and transition. Serve and attack are Slovenia's strengths and they will have a great advantage in those segments. The difference in form and quality is great. Everything will come down to Slovenia. I think they will open with an easy win today.
