Both teams' form is in a downwards spiral, and it's hard to say who's having more trouble with the absences

After two back-to-back defeats, Nantes had a great chance to get a home win last weekend, when they were hosting Bastia. They were better in every statistics, but the nets didn't shake, and Nantes only got one point, which made them stay at the middle of the league table. 

- We've got an awful evening behind us, where we lost two important players, and didn't justify the role of the favorite. We were more dominant, but altogether, that was far off from what we wanted. We were making mistakes and we ourselves gave Bastia the chance to get a point, even though they didn't deserve it with their game - the home team's coach Michel Der Zakarian was angry after a home draw.

The American midfielder Bedoya joined the team this weekend after being absent for the longest time, and then he got sent off in the injury time so he can't play today. The second player Der Zakarian had in mind while complaining was their regular defender Moimbe who got injured. Besides them, the less relevant midfielder Gomis is out finishing his suspension, and also Toure, Walongwa, and Rongier who are injured. The latest news tell that the forward Thoamasson is out. He's been playing a lot this season. Also, the young Alegue, but he hasn't played that much so far. These two are supposedly injured, as well.

Lyon dealt with their absences pretty well for a while, but that's coming to an end, and the Lions are sinking deeper. After being crushed against Nice and getting eliminated from the Champions League, Lyon were crushed at home this weekend, 4-2 by Montpellier. Things were bad for Lyon from the start, when Gonalons scored an own goal. The guests got carried by that and were a better team for the rest of the game. 

- Things are far from ideal, we're not playing well and we're getting bad results. But, there is no tension among the players as the rumors have it. Everything's fine in the locker room because we're working on this problem together. We're working hard and we want to go forward. There's no time to lose our heads over what happened. We're focused on Nantes and we'll do our best to end this uncomfortable situation - the guest player Clement Grenier said at the press conference yesterday. 

Things are still serious regarding the absences, and the ones missing today are Jallet, Umtiti, Fofana, Kalulu and Fekir. All of them have been injured before, but the results so far show how much those players are missed. Besides them, the regular defender Yanga-Mbiwa is out finishing his suspension. The main news at the press conference yesterday was when the coach Fournier said that their goalie Lopes got injured on the Sunday's practice, and won't be playing away in Nantes.
