USA showed certain improvements in their shape. Belgium are missing a couple of important players, so USA shouldn't have a lot of problems against them

Belgium didn't manage to prepare another surprise in Ankara. After beating Turkey on Friday in three sets, yesterday they lost to Italy in three sets. Italy dominated in that match from start to finish. Belgium weren't helped by the fact that Italy were resting a lot of their first-team players.

- We knew this was going to be a tough match for us. Italy are a very strong team. Our serve was worse than yesterday, so Italy were able to play their game. We can learn a lot from today's match - said Belgium's captain Leys.

Belgium arrived to Ankara with a young team. They're missing their player Van Hecke, and setter Dirickx will join them during the European Championship preparations. Belgium are missing a couple of other players from the first team with whom they've earned the placement into the First division last year. The Belgium of today will hardly be able to do something against USA.

FIVB

- We raised our game level compared to our first match here. In some game elements we were better. Both teams today served very well. We fought and we won. We're very happy with this win - said USA's captain Thompson after yesterday's win against Turkey.

As was against Italy, USA yesterday lost a set. They started out good, they won the first set and then it seems that they relaxed too soon. Turkey used that to their advantage, but USA played the second part of yesterday's game on a high level. Despite not having the strongest line-up, they still won. With 23 points Lowe led her team. USA made a few mistakes, but they were better than their opponents in the offense. If they repeat such a game today, they shouldn't have problems against Belgium.
