Brazil with bad memories of Saint Denis

They recorded only wins since Dunga took over and will try and win for the first time in their 4th attempt in the Parisian suburbs tonight against France, who are also undefeated since the World Cup

France decided to take on the mighty Brazil in their first test game of 2015 at the national stadium Saint Denis. Didier Deschamps has basically the best France has at the moment on his list but there will still be a few significant absences. First and foremost, there are the injured players - goal keeper Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), midfielders Paulo Pogba (Juventus) and Maxime Gonalons (Lyon), and Franck Ribery, who retired from the national team earlier.

There are a few new names on Deschamps' list, like Benoit Costil (Rennes), who was invited instead of Lloris, defender Zouma (Chelsea) and midfielder Fekir (Lyon).

Karim Benzema showed up at the last press conference and the reporters wanted to know if Les Blues are the favorites against Brazil:

- There is no favorite, this is a game that starts at 0-0. Brazil were disappointed after the World Cup but they picked themselves up and started winning. They do not concede a lot of goals, while scoring quite a lot, which only proves they're a great team. We were doing well after the World Cup even though we sometimes struggled to win. Either way, I expect a tough game in which both teams will give their best to win.

The first idea that still comes to mind for most people when the Brazilian national team is being mentioned is their failure at the World Cup, from which they, as the host, had very high expectations. Instead, they finished their WC campaign with a total 1-10 defeat in the semifinal and third place game. Things started looking up after Scolari was replaced by Dunga as Brazil record nothing but wins since. Only Austria managed to score a goal against Brazil, even though Dunga's men faced some powerful and at least good opponents like Colombia, Argentina, Equador, Turkey, Japan, and the aforementioned Austrians.

They are set to meet another respectable opponent today, at a stadium where they still haven't recorded a single win in three attempts. France will serve them as a preparation for another great competition - Copa America, which is taking place this season. There is already the base of the squad but Dunga keeps on saying that no one's spot on the team is cemented yet. One of those players who need to find a way to pick themselves up after the WC failure is Thiago Silva, who lost a spot in the lineup and is no longer the team captain. He spoke out publicly against the latter, for which he later had to apologize. He is now to get back in the lineup, but captain's armband is still with Neymar.

- We need to learn from our mistakes to now better next time. Rarely do you get a second chance in life. When it presents itself, you have seize it - Dunga said. He will be without Diego Tardellini and according to the Brazilian media, Hoffenheim's Firmina will step in for him. That is, however, not sure since Dunga closed the practice session for public:

- I closed the session because the coaches sometimes need a bit of privacy. It's not a covert session, it's just private to give the players some peace since they are constantly exposed.

David Luiz is not on the team either. He will be replaced by his PSG teammate and there should be no doubt about the starting 11 regardless of the fact Brazil worked both on 4-2-2 and 4-2-3-1 formation.
