The Lions coach: I'm not sure we've met a team more complete

Matchup between the starting seven of the Lions and the Cowboys' offensive line could decide the winner even though both teams are far from being one-dimensional

All the Dallas Cowboys had to do in the last week was to win and get placed to the playoffs, and they had that chance in each of the previous three seasons, but missed out on it every time. This year, they solved their playoff status a bit earlier. They dominated the NFC East division, and they can build their optimism on having a decent form because they've got the best ratio in the league, even though four other teams have the same effect. 

-We know what we've got to do. We just have to continue fighting and playing like a team - Dez Bryant said. He has 1.320 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns this season (league record).

The often-critiqued Tony Rom is having fantastic numbers in the regular part as well, and he's one of the main candidates for the MVP award that would shut the mouth of all the critics, and there were plenty in the last years. The Cowboys' QB's got the best passer rating in the league (113.2), and he's the first when it comes to the assist yards (8.52), while he's the fourth with 34 TDs.

- The fact that we became stronger and better in the offensive line definitely helped us. We've got a good rushing game, and Tony's playing fantastic. He's a guy who directs everything we do in the offense - the coach Jason Garrett praised his quarterback. His team score 29.2 points per game.

DeMarco Murray definitely profits from the improved offensive line game, considered the best one in the league. He's got 1.845 rushing yards, which knocked down Emmitt Smith's club record. Murray also ended 12 games with a three-digit number of ground yards, making it the second best effect in the league history. 

Unfortunately for him, today he'll face a team who limits their opponents to only 69.3 ground yards, and who had 133 tackles for the negative yards number. Of course, they were the best in both those categories. 

- If you take a look at the numbers, they'll tell you that the Cowboys have the best rushing game in the league (143.7 y/g), and at the same time, you can see we were best at stopping that. All in all, I think this'll be a pretty good battle - the guests' coach, Jim Caldwell, said.

The Cowboys' defense isn't that good, but they definitely surprised all the experts who thought they'll have negative records. They limit their opponents to the acceptable 22.0 points, but the question is, how much will lack of Henry's Melton tackle be felt? He got injured in the last week of the regular part of the season.

Last Sunday wasn't too good for the Detroit Lions, either. They got defeated in the Green Bay and it cost them a division title, plus lots of other things. At the same time, they have to be content with what they did in the first season with the new coach, and it's not like they don't have their chances in Dallas.

- You win or you go home. I think it can't be put simpler than that. How will we do? We can't allow mental mistakes anymore. We don't have a chance to fix anything till the next week. We have to go out to the field and do what has to be done to win the game. We don't want to have to cry over spoiled milk - Golden Tate pointed out. He went to the end with the Seahawks last year. 

The Lions' offense is much more conservative than it was in the past, but maybe they saved the best for the playoffs. Matthew Stafford has the best receiver duo in the league with Tate and Calvin Johnson, and the backfield guys aren't bad, either.

Defensively, the team looked a bit better than the Lions who are in the top five in most statistic categories, and are especially impressive in the front line. Matchup between their starting seven and the Cowboys' offensive line could decide the winner, even though both teams are far from being one-dimensional.

- I'm not sure we've met a team more complete. They're very explosive, have a quarterback who's an MVP candidate, like Murray. They've got a great rushing game, and are capable of creating damage on the edges. Dez Bryant is knocking down the records. Jason Witten is one of the best tight ends of the league. Their offensive line is great. Looking at the total, they're a very, very good team - coach Caldwell detected.

The Lions lost ten out of the last 11 playoff games, including seven in a row, but the Cowboys can't brag with too much success, either. They only won one out of the last eight playoff games, and they've also got a coach who never lead a team this far in the season, while Caldwell went all the way with the Colts.
