Poland secured top tournament spot, Biegler said there will be changes

No matter the changes, the Polish coach said ahead of this tournament that he wants to record three wins and will try and beat Hungary before the Polish fans today. Most of the Hungarian team is running a fewer, the key player Lele is questionable

Poland beat Czech Republic quite easily to record their second win in the tournament that secured them the top spot in the end. The first few minutes aside, Poland controlled the whole game, taking a 13-10 lead after the first half and getting the point-difference up for a convincing win. Goal keeper Szmal was their top player in his 250th game on the Polish national team.

- If I had known it was Szmal's 250th game, I would not have worried about anything. My goal keepers always perform well in such special games, just like they did now - Biegler said. Kuckczynski lead his team with 6 goals (4 from seven-meter throws).

Lijewski suffered two tough fouls during the game, but Biegler said there were no significant consequences. 

- It's no big deal. He will need to rest for a few days, but it's only a minor injury.

Lijewski will be one of the players the coach plans to rest today. Biegler said there will be changes and Szmal and Bielecki are set to miss this game as well, with the coach giving some other players a chance to prove how good they are. Regardless of the fact they secured top spot, Bielgler will try and win all three games, as he promised ahead of the tournament.

It shouldn't be a tough task since Hungary came to Poland with the B team, that has, truth be told, given the Czechs and the Slovaks quite a hard time. It didn't seem that would be the case after the start - the Slovaks took an 8-2 lead, but the Hungarians then got more serious to play a better game and to equalize by minute 23. They even took a 12-9 lead, but couldn't keep it up, allowing Slovakia to equalize for 13-13 at half time. 

- I'm happy because we opened the game badly and then displayed the true warrior spirit. We didn't lack quality and when those two combined, the result had to follow - the Hungarian coach said and added:

- I'm sorry that most of my players are running a fever and lost power since it was their second match in only two days.

That was very obvious in the second part of the match when Hungary took a 3-goal lead (17-14) but didn't have the power to keep Slovakia at a distance. Juhaszev's players were doing well, fatigue in spite, to be one goal up with one minute left on the clock, which was not enough for new points in the end.

- I think we can be happy with the will and the fierceness this team's been displaying. I believe better results are to follow - Juhasz said.

Lele is one of the key players at Hungary, playing the key role in their success. He lead his team with 7 goals in the second game, but had to miss the last 10 minutes with an ankle injury. He is questionable for the meeting today and if he doesn't play today, the Hungarian game will be very different in a bad way. We also need to wait and see how will those players with a fever do their 3rd match in only 3 days...
