Ufa lost yesterday but outplayed Servette

Fatigue could be a problem at Ufa today since they have to play not even 24 hours later and certain changes are bound to happen on the team. The opponents cannot be tougher since they face Jokerit, a team that did much better in KHL than Ufa this season

Two KHL teams are to meet on the second day of Spangler Cup. It is Jokerit's opening game, while Ufa played yesterday to lose to Servette which means they have to play the very next day. Jokerit are the best team participating in Spanglers Cup, they're doing great against the fierce KHL competition and the only team we can be count on to reach the playoffs.

Jokerit are in the third spot of the West Conference, having recorded the same number of points as the brilliant SKA. They have Moses and Kapanen to count on, both of whom are world-class players, but as most teams, they have a few players on loan for the Spangles Cup to have a better choice. Two young defensemen from NLA joined to allowed coach Westerlund to give some players more time off, thus keeping them fresh for the next games.

- The schedule is busy, the time between two games short and the key thing here will distributing the time my players are to spend in the game. We need to control taht well because we are to play the key part of the KHL season later on - Jokerit's coach said.

Jokerit are powerful, one of the best teams here, but their motivation might be questionable. Will they try their absolute best here and compromise the very promising KHL season? Today, the coach will probably go with his best lineup but changes are expected in the next games. We need to add that they are doing much better than Ufa in KHL this season, being one of the elite European teams together with SKA, CSKA, and Magnitogorsk.

Jokerit are here with all the top players, no one was left behind except for the injured Todd, who's been out for a while now.

Ufa lost to Servetten yesterday after opening the game badly, which turned out to be the key. Clearly unaccustomed to the conditions from the very start and probably a bit too relaxed expecting a weaker opponent, allowed Servetten to take a 3-0 lead, which they couldn't make up for later on.

Coach Yurzinov's team pull themselves together later on to play better, even score to goals to get only one down, but didn't have precision to equalize while the opponents did great defending their goal. Ufa were much better than Servetten in the second and the third quarter, completely outplaying the opponents, but failed to win. They didn't use a lot of good attempts, possibly because they don't have the top player Kolstov here.

Ufa might be tired since they meet Jokerit not 24 hours after the tough game yesterday. That might be the problem, but their game is good as the meeting with Servette proved. Interestingly, Ufa beat Jokerit in their only head-to-head meeting in KHL two months ago away and should not be underrated today. 

They have no players on loan just for this game but they came here with more players to extend their list, which means some of the key players will be given some time off. Ufa definitely don't want to take any chances ahead of the key part of the KHL season.
