The Spaniards seek vengance for the home defeat

Teurel and Marek played a spectacular match two weeks ago in Spain. In the duel of the poorest-performing teams of the group, the Bulgarians were victorious in five sets

Marek are no longer Bulgaria's top team, but they reached their first win in the Champions League. They were better than Teruel 3-2 in an unbelievable match. At 2-1 for the home team they turned the -3 in a +6 and reached 2-2, and in the fifth set got back after being 4 points down.

- This is a big result and a lesson for my young team. Teams are created through matches like this one - coach Naydenov was delighted.

They won five more points than the Spaniards, but their offense recorded nine points less and had nine blocks less. In the end they were victorious because of the home team's errors.

CEV

In front of their fans in Samokov they will try to defend the Spain advantage. In case of a win which brings them three points they would get a chance to fight for the CEV cup (although that's very unlikely), but since they'e a young team, they won't lack motive.

Teruel started as the third team of the group, but after the defeat in the first match that's questionable. It's unbelievable the managed to lose a match in which they've had nine points more (won in offense), and a total of 23 blocks in three sets. They lost the first set with 18-25, although they had nine blocks.

The offense effect of 37% and a bigger number of mistakes destroyed all hope of the Spanish team to achieve their first win in the Champions League. Opposite Barcala's 28 points and middle blocker Altay's 16 points (and nine blocks) weren't enough.

They will be looking for a revenge in Samokov for a defeat two weeks ago. They do seem like a more experienced and a slightly better team, on paper.
