Fabris on one side and Diouf on the other guarantee a spectacle

Even though volleyball is an collective sport, there's one dominating figure in both Modena and Arsizio, and there's a big chance that one of those two opposites will decide the game today

The general conclusion after the great game between Conegliano and Modena last Sunday was that it's a shame there's no tie in volleyball. Neither of the two deserved to lose that match. But, someone had to, and that was Modena in the end. People in Modena couldn't shake off the impression that they shot themselves down.

- Conegliano played a fantastic defense today, I'd say the best one this season, and De Gennaro stood out especially. We just couldn't avoid her. Partly because we weren't as lucid as in the previous few games, but in some situations, we just weren't fully engaged, and gave away some important points to the opponent. All in all, that lack of continuity cost us dearly in the end - coach Alessandro Beltrami said. The opposite Samanta Fabris felt the same, even though she was the most efficient player of the duel with 30 points:

- It's amazing what the opponents saved tonight, we did help them with our impatience, especially in the first set, we made a few errors too many. If we won that, the game would probably take a different course, either way, this is a good lesson for the future.

Whether they learned anything or not will be seen tonight, in a duel against another direct rival, who are even better than Conegliano, as many in Modena believe. They prepared accordingly, the assistant coach Enrico Barbolini pointed out:

- You could see at this week's practices that girls were angry with themselves for missing out on defeating Conegliano. They want to make up for it against Arsizio, so the intensity was high and from the tactical aspect, we didn't leave anything to luck. Because in Treviso, we really saw that sometimes the details can decide, and today, like always, we'll try to play our best and hope that we'll get the result we want with the help from the fans.

Judging by the game against Piacenza, Arsizio finally caught the rhythm they wanted. True, they needed one lost set to get a grip, but any problem that came afterward, they solved it with authority. Coach Carlo Parisi didn't hide his content:

- I have to admit this win makes me especially happy because we got it after an extremely harsh fight. It will definitely boost our self-confidence even more. Tonight, it was confirmed once again that our great individual quality can stand out only if we look good as a collective, too. That's what happened most of the time, not everything was perfect, but there was some continuity. 

The phenomenal Valentina Diouf (28 points) deserved her spot in front of the microphone, too:

- This was an important win, not just to climb on the league table, but also to boost our moral. We served well, played the block well, but I think the games are won with counter attacks, and we were much better than Piacenza in that segment.

This was Arsizio's fourth win in a row, and the true test for their form will be the match against Modena who mostly left crumbs to the opponents who came to their court. Parisi believes his team could be the first one to get points in PalaPanini arena:

- We finally had a week with no games, so we had time to work on some aspects of our game. We couldn't do that before because of the thick schedule. I think we used the last days the right way and that will show in this tough away match in Modena. What makes me happy is that, despite looking good right now, we still have room for progress.
