Paris already won in Cannes earlier this season

Paris already won in the Azure Coast a little over a month ago, eliminating Cannes from the Cup. The home team suffered their first defeat this season nine days ago, losing in straight sets against Chaumont.

Cannes were undefeated in 11 straight matches, but everything has to come to an end and so has their run. Without setter Pujol (ankle injury), they were soundly beaten in an away match against Chaumont, losing in straight sets without being much of a threat.

- It's a loss just like any other, nothing spectacular occurred. The series had to end at some point, the bigger problem is that we played poorly- said experienced Castard after the defeat.

They held on to the top position and will enter 2015 ranked first, but Paris is within just three points from them, and the awakened Tours are a threat as well, six point behind with a game more played.

According to the available information, Pujol should be on the team today, as he played in practice last week. They met Paris in the Cup and lost in five sets.

- It's very important that we beat Paris now and maintain our lead ahead of them. We forgot about Chaumont, the coach pointed out where we made mistakes and we're now focusing on the big derby. We already lost against them in the Cup, but on Tuesday we'll have a very different game- said middle blocker Aguenier.

Paris continued their tradition of poor performances after Champions League matches, suffering their second league defeat. Sete took points away from Paris, and Rougeyron had this to after the match:

The break did them good after they've played a lot of games so far, and setter Hernan would like for history to repeat itself:

 -Cannes are a great team with many quality players. I'm certain they'll have extra motivation after their defeat against Chaumont, but so will we, as three points would allow us to catch up with them. We beat them in the Cup, I'm sure we can do it again.
