Lyon ended the winning streak

Receiver Lyneel is back at Montpellier after a year, but it's questionable whether he will play from the start or have a significant impact on the result. Beating Lyon is the absolute imperative after five consecutive defeats

For five rounds Montpellier didn't see a win and the situation is alarming. They're down onto the 11th spot of the championship table, and in the five matches won a single set. The last defeat was against Tourcoing in four sets last Saturday, and coach Le Marrec was very disappointed:

- Tourcoing gave us a lesson: about game approach, about everything, and we didn't respond. In these five matches the situation has only repeated itself, and it's alarming.

We shouldn't forget that Montpellier had an excellent start of the season. They won five out of six matches, but since Le Goff got injured they didn't see victory. Schneider scored 19 points in Lille, the most of all, while Milkov added two less.

After five defeats, winning is the absolute imperative. There's no information about Le Goff, he should've been back one week ago, but he wasn't there in the last two matches. Still, after a year, receiver Lyneel will be back. Lyneel injured his right knee last winter, and at his return his left knee ligaments sprained and he had to rest for a long time.

- I feel better and better, I've been practicing with the team for two weeks, with full intensity. Currently I'm in the "libero mode". My left knee hurts, but the right one knows with some sudden moves, but it's nothing serious. I believe I'll start against Lyone - said Lyneel.

They beat Lyon in both home matches with 3-1, but they would change today's one for all the ones from before.

- I wouldn't want to predict anything before Lyon. We're in a bad streak, there's no wish to fight in our game, so I expect us to improve in those segments - Le Marrec was clear.

Lyon's fantastic winning streak was cut by the same team who won them before that streak - Chaumont. Last week's match was identical to the one from the Cup, even regarding the results. The "lions" were leading 1-0 and 2-1, and in the fifth one gambled it away with 6-2 and lost 15-17.

They took a great risk on the serve which didn't pay off, and their offense wasn't as good as in the previous matches. Nikolov's 30 points didn't help them either (season record), nor 20 by Van Lankvelt, and that duo won 50 out of 86 points.

They're going to Montpellier to win, the opponent's shape gives them the right to think so, but we should see how they will react after the first defeat in almost a month.
