Battle for the second place will be settled in Moscow

Zenit defeated Piacenza in straight sets on Thursday, and basically solved the question of who goes through to the next round of the Champions League. This was their 25th consecutive win, but that series will be tested today

Dynamo are the third team of the Super League, with three points behind Zenit and seven behind Belgorod. They can still end up being the first in theory, but they're much more likely to end up second. It's interesting that the Muscovites have the most wins in straight sets in the league, 12 in 23 matches, and only Belgorod managed to win in Moscow, in the second round.

- Zenit are playing great right now. To win 25 matches in a row is not an easy feat, and that shows their quality. Despite that, I think we can match them and win - Dynamo's setter Sergey Grankin thinks.

They crushed Neftanyik in straight sets in the last round, even without Zaytsev who's very likely to miss this match, as well.

- I'm happy with our game, the results, and my players' desire. We'll be in a good form while hosting Zenit, and that match will show how much we're worth at this moment - the coach Marichev said.

Zenit come to Moscow directly from Italy where they played the first Playoff 12 match for the Champions League, against Piacenza. The Italian team were not an issue for the Kazhan team who celebrated in straight sets with 65-70% energy invested.

- I didn't expect Piacenza to play this well. They surprised us, but we didn't even invest all our energy. We still have room for progress, especially with Anderson - coach Alekno was semi-satisfied.

If they win in Moscow, Zenit would confirm the second place, and maybe even get closer to the first and Belgorod. Considering that some players who can't play in the Super League played in Italy, you can't really talk about fatigue in Zenit. Spiridonov didn't get one minute on the court, and the liberos Verbov and Babichev joined the team in Moscow.

- Dynamo are a great team and regardless of our great form, this will be a very demanding match. We can't think about the Champions League match too much, we have a chance to confirm the second place, maybe even go after the first. We don't need any special motivation for Dynamo - the eccentric Spiridonov said.
