Macedonian team are completely focused on Champions League at this point in the season, with coach Raul Gonzalez thinking about this game as he lead his team in the last two SEHA league matches. It was not important that they played the derby match with Zagreb - he rested his players, just like against Vojvodina a few days ago.

- We are to play a very important match. We're in the second place now and one or two points will see us finish in place 3 for sure and allow us to fight for the runner up spot with Lowen. Montpellier are a great team, they're top table in France. They are playing a game that doesn't suit us, with a few different tactical formations, 3-2-1, 6-0, 5-1. We had the whole week to prepare for this and I expect us to do well - the Spanish coach said.

Gonzalez said that Pribak, Markovic, and Dujsebajev struggled with injuries but that all three participated in practice sessions and should be ready. Arpad Sterbik got more rest than any other player in SEHA league games. Vardar are giving him time off when ever possible and he's mostly on the goal only in Champions League games. 

- Montpellier can do well away and their results prove it. They are a very serious team. I don't know what their form is like following the WC but I expect a very tough game - Sterbik said.

- They are looking to finish in third place and this will definitely be a good game. They can't count on Grebille and that be significant, but Mackovsek is back. I don't know what their lineup will be like and I don't know how good Mackovsek is at the moment. It won't be easy and we will have to do our best.

Montpellier are three points short of the Macedonian team, two points short of Lowen and would definitely like to avoid finishing in spot 4, which would see them face one of the top spot teams from other groups (Veszprem, Kiel, or Kielce).

While Vardar struggled against Zagreb and Vojvodina, Montpellier played a very serious game with St. Raphael, settling it with some 10 minutes left on the clock. They increased the 26-25 lead to 29-25, with two goals from Simonet and one from Dolenec. Coach Canayer used Mackovsek (1/3) and Bonnefond (3/6) instead of Grebille. One of the options we can expect from Canayer is Guigou at middle back position and Simonet at left back, with Borges at left wing.

Kavticnik, who missed that match with a suspension, is back on the team for the clash with Vardar.

- Vid is an important player for us, with him back we'll have more options. He is important to me and will definitely give us something extra, something we missed in the St. Raphael game - coach Canayer said and added that he will not be resting any players despite the fact they already secured the next round and his constant talking about the league being the No.1 priority.

- I think Vardar are the heavy favorite, they have great players, a good team, a good coach, and the arena will be packed. We are under no pressure, we'll play our game, and if we can beat them if we manage to stay close until the very finish - Dragan Gajic said.
