Klagenfurt - Alba Volan (3:6)

KAC looking for their second home win

  • Published:

- KAC have several very talented players and excellent powerplay performance. We have to be compact in defense, be disciplined and look for a low-scoring game - said Alba's coach Rob Pallin

Austria's biggest club, KAC from Klagenfurt, haven't had the best start of the season. They beat Olimpija in the opener but it was a match against the weakest team in the league.

KAC failed to collect the points in their second game already. In an away game against not-so-strong Innsbruck, KAC didn't play well, particularly in defense, and failed to get the points. The Sharks won by 5-4. Now KAC are hoping to get back to their winning ways with a new home win.

- Looking at Alba's videos, we've noticed that the Hungarians play a slightly different game than in last few seasons. We will have to get used to that and maintain a disciplined performance so that we don't get sending offs which mar the rhythm of our game, which is why we lost in Innsbruck. Now we can't afford to destroy our performance with that - said KAC's assistant coach Gerald Ressmann ahead of the game.

There are so far no injuries in KAC's squad and the only player missing is suspended Mike Siklenka.

On the other hand, Alba have had a semi-decent start of the season. They started with a 4-3 win against VSV, which largely improved the atmosphere in the team.

But this was soon followed by a cold shower against Vienna away, who beat the Hungarians by 6-3. Now Alba's coach Rob Pallin has turned to some changes in the squad, which means there might be some new things in this game.

 - KAC have several very talented players and excellent powerplay performance. We have to be compact in defense, be disciplined and look for a low-scoring game - said Alba's coach Rob Pallin head of their game against KAC.

Just like the Klagenfurt team, the Hungarians are injury-free for now and have a full squad available for this one.
