The Cowboys undefeated away

There are a few scenarios that would see Dallas end up with a first round by in the playoffs, but neither is very likely to happen, which will probably result in the Texan club resting its top players

After finishing with only three wins last season, Washington Redskins decided to make a coach change, putting Jay Gruden in charge. But, he didn't see eye to eye with his QB Griffin, who injured his ankle at the very start, after which he came back to record some very bad performances and lose Gruden's trust. Since his third coach QB got injured and Cousins fell short of expectations, Gruden had no choice but to reinstate Griffin as his starting QB. Griffin thanked the coach with a good performance last Saturday when the Redskinds beat the Eagles 27-24.

- Jay is the head coach and he makes the decisions. My job is not to get sucked into the mind games and to get out there and try and lead my teams towards wins - Griffin said completing 16 out of the 23 passes for 220 yards, with one interception.

The end of their 6-game losing run came with a price - Griffin injured his shoulder and wasn't able to participate in training sessions much this week. It seems he will play tonight even though that's still questionable.

- He health status needs to improve. I don't think it's anything serious, but if it's affecting him we might have a problem - coach Gruden said.

His team made sure the Eagles won't advance into the playoffs last week, while at the same time helping the rivals from Texas to claim top spot in their division.

- Winning the last game of the season would mean a lot to us. I think it would be great to beat two good-quality opponents in the end. I think that would be something we could build the next season around - the Redskins' coach said. His team is bottom-league when it comes to points (18.9 on average) and the defense isn't doing much better either, allowing the opponents to average 27.7 points in the last 7 games.

Dallas had the chance of qualifying for the playoffs in case of winning in the final week of each of the last three seasons, but always failed to do so. Last year's failure was somewhat caused by their starting QB not playing. But, Dallas improved massively this season, they're still undefeated away and in case they win today, they will become only the 14th team since 1950 that didn't lose a single away game. 

- We had our chances in the past. I wasn't there for my team last season, but the fact we're playing good games is good. We lost a few important games unfortunately, but I think we're better now than we were before - Romo said after setting the new club record in passing yards, leaving previous record holder Aikman behind.

Dallas recorded their 3rd consecutive win last Sunday when beating the Colts 42-7 to secure the first division title since 2009. There are a few scenarios that would see Dallas end up with a first round by in the playoffs, but neither is very likely to happen.

The head-to-head game with Washington was one of the worst ones for the team from Dallas this season. The Redskins shocked them with a 20-17 overtime win.
