Ribe getting better, finally recorded a win

Skanderborg recorded only one win in 10 away games and don't seem very convincing. They're clearly desperate when hoping for a top performance from a player who's been out for almost a year

The comeback Esbjerg managed to make against Arhus last round was a small miracle since it started off as yet another game in which they were headed towards a defeat. It was their ninth game without a win. Arhus took a 16-20 and cruised towards a new win only to unexpectedly stop and allow the opponent a miraculous 8-0 run that caused a comeback.

- We used the extra played brilliantly and Frandsen recorded a few great saves - that was the key since it destroyed the opponents' confidence completely. It's impressive how calm we managed to stay despite not being in a good situation for the most part of the game - coach Uhrenholt said.

The entire comeback took place in a matter of 20 minutes, during which period Esbjerg displayed their best game, proving they can be very good at punishing opponents' lack of focus and more mistakes. The consistency was the aspect in which Uhrenholt spotted the difference between his team and Arhus:

- Arhus have ups and downs. When doing well, they're really really doing well, but they also sometimes play badly. We are consistent throughout the match, we don't make as many mistakes and that is clearly crucial in some games.

Patience is required for outsmarting the opponent in such a a way, which is what Ribe's coach thinks his team are good at. They were lacking patience in the previous games, but the last few rounds are different for his team. They have been much better the last 4 rounds, getting a points against Midtjylland, both against Arhus and now face Skandeborg to try and do the same. Skandebrog are, at least in theory, much worse than those other teams and Ribe already beat away 13-19.

- We have been doing much better since, we should have won against BSV, but we didn't know how to use the extra player situations properly. The win in the last round gave us a boost of confidence. I believe the momentum can give us a good finish of the year ahead of the well-deserved break - home team's coach said.

They now face a team that recorded only one win in 10 away games this season. They will not have their sporting director Koch, who quite after being with the club for years.

- There's no drama or anything like it. My two kids are my priority and this job is too much for now at least. I need to slow my pace down - Koch said.

We need to wait and see how that will affect the team. It's possible the visitors will be motivated and it's also possible they will lose motivation after this sudden and unexpected decision. They have no other choice but to turn to future endeavors, which may be very influenced by this game today.

One of the players in the spotlight ahead of the game is back player Kaagaard, who got back after recovering from an injury for almost a year.

- I feel great, I made progress, but I believe I'll do even better in the second part of the season - Skandeborg's player said.

It's hard to tell if he can turn out the savior of the team that will ahve to fight really hard to avoid relegation. Kaagaard is still not at his best, while the opponents get better each game. Kaagaard will need support from others if Skaderborg want to keep on fighting to avoid relegation.
