Both teams started off with a win

Both OFI and Veria have started the new season with new coaches and both have managed to get the wins in their opening games

OFI hosted Panetolikos in the first round and barely got a minimal win. They were by far the better team and got one chance after another, but Panetolikos managed to hold on until the injury time. Everyone had already accepted that OFI would squander away their three points but Antonis Petropoulos scored the winner in the 92nd minute.

- I have been waiting for this moment for two months, the goal came in the final stages of the game, I was overwhelmed when we scored - OFI's new coach Gennaro Gattuso said after the game.

His previous engagements in Sion and Palermo weren't too successful but he got off to a good start here. The win is in the bag, the performance was more than fine and the players seem happy.

- Gattuso is one of us, he's passionate and fiery and he wants to transfer that onto us. He has a huge experience, lots of trophies and we can learn a lot from him, but the most important thing he has taught us is the spirit of fighting until the last moment - said Petropoulos, whose last-gasp goal showed that OFI could do a lot this season, provided they put in the same amount of effort.

Gattuso will have quite a few players missing today, but none were involved in the first game either.

Veria were also successful at the start. They also played at home and their opponents were Xanthi. At the start of the second half, they had a nice 2-0 lead but they got too lax in the final stages of the game. They conceded a goal fr 2-1 and just a few minutes later, they were forced to make a foul in the penalty area. Xanthi leveled but Dumitro scored a super-goal just 3 minutes later to set the final scoreline at 3-2.

- 2-0 is the worst possible scoreline; you think you have something and then you concede a goal and you find yourself in huge trouble. We won in the end and I think it wouldn't have been fair if we didn't - said Veria's coach Jose Carlos Granero, who commented the next game:

- We are facing a difficult match against OFI. I watched them, they seem well, but we have to find our own game. I wish Gattuso the best of luck in this work as he's only started his career and I know it's not easy for him, but he shouldn't expect any help this time.

Veria will also miss a few players, but unlike OFI, these are the players that have played - their right-back Malon and midfielders Pavlidis and Hasselbaink.
