Eibar - Sevilla (1:3)

Eibar getting more nervous each next week

  • Published:

The visitors continue with good performances and wins and want to take advantage of the poor form at the home team to win

Eibar had a perfect chance to end the crisis in Almeria but failed once again. They are now only one little step above the danger zone after being the most pleasant surprise of the first part of the season. The start of the second part brought about problems and Eibar might face relegation at season's end.

The whole team is very nervous, as coach Garitno's reaction at the press conference following the game in Almeria proved. He was answering one question in Bask, which bothered the Spanish reporters since they didn't have an interpreter. They complained about it, at which Garitano walked out of the conference, after which he was severely criticized:

- I have nothing to say about that. I answered the question in the language in which it was asked and I'm not the one who caused problems with the media. They were looking for it.

As for this match, Garitano said:

- I already forgot about the defeat in Almeria and have been thinking about Sevilla only since that ended. I don't even have to say how important this match. We need to look for a win against a very tough opponent.

Garitano will probably have center back Raul Navas back at his disposal but his goal keeper Jimenez is still out. Manu de Moral is not on the list even though he's fit and ready according to the media.

Sevilla were having brilliant performances with a lot of goals last season, which often saw them drop points. Unai Emery's team is much more rational this season and seemed to have learned to record wins as a matter of routine. They recorded such win last weekend over Rayo to temporarily sit in spot 4 (Valencia took it over after winning their game).

Sevilla's fans are already anxious about the weekend when Real visit their city but Emery is warning his team ahead of a trip to his country:

- I am not thinking about Real and Fiorentina at all. Three points are three points, no matter which game, and no matter which opponent. We need to focus on this away game that could turn out crucial in the race for spot 4. We need to get three points and then start focusing on the games that come next.

Emery has lost his first choice goal keeper Beto again, just after he finally recovered from an injury. The Portuguese played the Zenit game but it seems like Rico is not first choice GK anyway now, which means Beto's isn't irreplaceable. Nicolas Pareja, Vitolo, Seastian Cristoforo and third choice goal keeper Barbosa are all out.
