Both teams are doing badly, but both managed to record wins in the Cup over second-tier opponents

Celta were not able to win the fifth straight championship game nor did they manage to at least score a goal in it. In all games other than the one against Real, they were very close but never managed to score and cannot hope for success like that. A win in the Cup over the second-tier Las Palmas (Celta scored 3 goals) might be the sign of a better future for the Galician team.

- This is the last round of the year and we simply need to win to start the break in the best possible manner. The start to the season was brilliant and the expectations suddenly run high, but reality hit us hard in the previous games. Regardless of everything, we have the chance to finish this year with more than 20 points in the table and that would, in my opinion, be a success. We were finally good old Celta against Las Palmas in the Cup. We managed to play our games, to score three goals and we now only need to transfer those good things to our championship games - coach Berizzo said.

Berizzo has 19 players on the list for Almeria, among them midfielder Mandinda who was not there for the Cup game. Only Borja Oubin is out with injury, while the important forward Nolito got injured during the practice session yesterday. He is officially on the list, but might not play today.

The visitors from Almeria are doing no better than Celta, but unlike the home team, Almeria didn't have a good start to the season to collect a lot of points which puts them in a very tough situation now. They changed the coach ahead of the last round, but the new coach that took over could not have been expected to display progress against the mighty Real.

Almeria were lead by the coach of their youth ranks as they took on Real, but Juan Ignacio Martinez took over in the meantime and recorded a successful debut as his team beat Betis in a Cup game.

The visitors can't count on goal keeper Martinez, who will be out with an injury for almost two months. That is a huge problem for the team and besides him, Martinez doesn't have midfielder Soriano on his disposal (injury) either. He wouldn't not have been on the team even if he was fit and ready (suspension). Forward Bifoume and young goal keeper Gomez who is to step in for Cuesta today are new names of the list at Almeria.
