Both Hull and West Ham trying to find their form

Hull have bolstered their ranks at the end of the transfer period but their new players aren't ready yet and the chairman has announced the sale of the club while West Ham have started with many fluctuations and this game will show whether they can stabilize their game

Hull didn't do too well in their debut in European competitions and were eliminated by Lokeren in the Europa League playoffs, thus confirming the status of a small provincial club not ready for bigger challenges and results. It's true that they have brought in three very good reinforcements in midfielders Diame, Ramirez, and Ben Arfa and forward Hernandez, but this was a move that was supposed to save them from the relegation battle.

Their manager Steve Bruce will try to solve their main problems of attacking creativity and final passes with that trio, but only Diame is expected to start against his former club, while Ben Harfa (Newcastle) and Ramirez (Southampton) are not ready, while Hernandez (Palermo) has still not been given his working permit.

- After Long's departure and injury of Snodgrass, both of whom were our first-team players, we had to react and bring in adequate reinforcements. I am happy with the job we've done and even though we have to be a bit more patient with their performances and fitness, I feel that the season has started again for us - said Bruce, who is touted as the new man for Newcastle's bench should Alan Pardew be given the sack there.

These speculations will not disrupt my concentration ahead of the game against West Ham, who're a demanding team and are coming here after an international break that took several of our players - said Bruce, who will probably opt for the new 3-4-2-1 system. The club is still tormented by the announcement of chairman Assem Allam that they will sell the club as they were unable to rename the club Hull Tigers, which most fans are opposed to.

- I would like the fans to give more support to our attempts on the pitch than the protest as this will make things much easier against West Ham, who are very tricky opponents - said Bruce who is surrounded, just like his club, by many questions and it remains to be seen what effect it all has on the situation on the pitch.

West Ham were defeated twice at home in the first three rounds and they beat Crystal Palace away. This goes to show that the Londoners are still trying find their right form and Sam Allardyce is also having some problems with absences, which only exacerbates the situations. West Ham have brought in two new players at the end of the transfer period -Song and Amalfitano, who could debut against Hill as club captain Nolan still hasn't recovered, along with Collins, Jarvins, Jenkinson and Carroll.

Allardyce is hoping for better defensive performances as West Ham had 14 clean sheets last season but they haven't gotten one this season.

- Many clubs stir the euphoria during transfer period by bringing in new players and they forget how important it is to integrate them into the new environment, which can take up to a few months, especially with foreign players with different cultures and languages. Of course, it is the task of ever club to get the best of what they have as soon as possible but the fans have to be patient and support us when things aren't going according to plan - said West Ham coach, who still hasn't used started his biggest reinforcement, the Ecuadorian forward Enor Valencia, but he might do that today.

- Just so we don't look for alibis, I expect our best game so far in Hull, that is, a much better one than the last one against Southampton. Hull are in a similar situation like we are, they are still trying to find their form and we will try to surprise them with a good fighting performance to show the desire to go home happily - said West Ham's manager Sam Allardyce.
