Verona and Lazio's games are traditionally very efficient

Verona's defense did horribly the two previous games and Mandorlini has to deal with his center back Marques' injury today

Following a good start to the season and a win over Cagliari, Verona went on to record two bad defeats to Milan and Napoli. Their normally tough defense had a particularly bad performances that resulted in Milano scoring 3 goals and Napoli 6 in their respective head-to-head games. Verona started the game last Sunday with a long-distance opener by Hallfredsson. Nico Lopez soon managed to get past Napoli's defense to score another goal, but that didn't do them much good since they went on to concede 6 goals.

Mandorlini now has to face anther powerful offense:

- I'm done thinking about Napoli, I'm focusing on Lazio only. We expect the kind of result we always expect. We're meeting a team that have quality - they are currently among the best teams when it comes to their mental state following 4 consecutive wins. They're probably the worst possible opponent for us at this point. We need to be tough in order to beat them and not make mistakes.

Coach Mandorlini had to do without his first team center back Marquez against Napoli (suspended), while he now needs to figure out what to do without his center back partner Marques, who got injured. Defender Rodriquez and midfielders Obbadi and Sala struggle with injuries as well. Nico Lopez should be back in Verona's three-man offense, with Toni and Jankovic.

Lazio have been doing well early in the season and dropping points regardless. But, tables have turned, with good performances by Pioli's side finally resulting in wins. They are on a four-game winning run and now meet Verona at Bentegodi, a venue that was always been tough for the team from Rome. Verona destroyed them home last year. Interestingly, their head-to-head games tend to be very efficient - four or more goals were scored in each of their last four head-to-head games.

Pioli is happy with Lazio's game:

- I'm extremely happy. The team have had another good performance with Torino, even after they threatened to equalize. I can see that my players want success and they're very determined to keep our winning streak going. I'm happy we're being praise for our game, but we need to keep our feet on the ground. We need to keep getting out on the pitch with a lot o focus and determination. The game with Verona is tricky in more than one way since they want to win after a bad defeat. They have had a great season. We are humble, but at the same time know our potential.

The visitors will have to do without the injured defenders Gentiletti and Cataldi, back player Basta and forward Keita. The most important thing for the coach is the well-experienced forward Mauri being back on the team. He will probably start on the bench and Lulic will start with Candrev and Djordjevic.
