Borac missing important winger Mikić

Borac were the last of the SEHA league teams to continue the season, and had what was probably the easiest match to play, an away one against Veszprem. There was no pressure, but they still played a decent game and did not embarrass themselves. The Hungarian team won 32-18, with Borac missing 5 of their 6 penalty shots. Alilović had 20 saves, 4 of which were penalty shots. Adding to that the fact that the perimeter trio of Janković - Trivundža - Obradović had 10/26 shooting from the field, Borac seem to have got of lightly.

- The home team controlled the match from the start, and I'm especially sorry that we missed all those penalty shots- said coach Rađenović after the match.

-We've got a young team who cannot play at such a level for 60 minutes- added Milan Đukić.

Borac were handicapped in not having their left winger Mirko Mikić, so young Čeranić (class '95) passed a baptism by fire, missing all three of his shots.

Before the Presov away match many remember the game in Slovakia which Tatran won by 42-20.

- Tatran are the least favorable matchup of all the SEHA teams for us. The reason is that they've been together for six years, and are perfectly tuned in. Any sort of a tactic we use, they've always got 2-3 players who know perfectly where the players are standing and how to solve the situation both on offense and defense- worries the Banja Luka team coach, as Mondo.ba report.

- Naturally, we'll do the best we can right now, and I believe I'll give many young players a chance so they can get some experience in playing against such opponents.

One should not be surprised by such talk from Rađenović, as Borac are turning towards the key part of the season which starts after the SEHA league, the battle for the national title.

Mikić will be absent once again (discus hernia), as will their left back Duško Hercegovac (knee).

Tatran on the other hand won 8 of their last 10 matches in the SEHA league, and are currently sharing 3rd place with Zagreb and Meskov, as all three teams have 27 points while Zagreb played one more match.

Their last game was against Metalurg, who were rather weakened but still had Jonovski, Mirkulovski and Vugrinec. The game was a close one till 20-19, when Tatran started their 8-0 series and decided the game (31-22).

- A very tough game where the result does not depict the match. It was an even match for the first 45 minutes, we were nervous at the start- said coach Peter David.

- We were physically better prepared and we took advantage of that in the last 15 minutes of the match.

After Metalurg they played a national league match in Slovakia, beating Topol'čanye away 36:32 (22:17), with 10 goals by T. Urban and 7 by Hrstka. They have no major roster issues prior to the Borac game, the only one missing will probably be Kroka, due to hamstring problems.

-In our experience, any away game against a team from the Balkan area is tough and tricky. This is why we try to be fully prepared- said coach David.
