Istra's "anti-football" gives results so far

Istra got two ties in away matches in Split thanks to the "bunker" tactics, and it satisfied their ambitions completely. Rijeka are crushing everyone they face this season

After the first two matches Istra played in the new season, opponents' coaches could say that they're playing "anti-football, parking the bus in front of their goal and waiting". But, Pamic will say he only cares about the result and he doesn't have a team that can outplay stronger opponents. We'll add that they scored one goal in both those matches, so it's not really that they don't think about the offense at all. Besides, they evened out the score after being behind both times.

- I have to give it to Rijeka and their club for everything they did, and the progress they made in the last year. It wouldn't be normal for people to spend that much money and then not outplay their opponents in this league and ridiculous teams in Europe. I'd like to have half that budget, then we could play, too, but we can't even imagine that - coach Pamic said right away, and then added that he can't decide about tonight's formation:

- I have to admit I'm not sure about formation this time, even though I'm pretty close to not changing anything. We're playing against the team who showed the most in HNL. Defense phase functioned, however, I want a real Franjic, and other more bold players who are important forward. I don't know whether to put Vukman in the back line or the midfield. Jure Obsivac should be back and play from the start.

After that, he complimented Rijeka's game a lot, as well as their individuals, and he asked his players to be a bit more dangerous to the front. He pointed out that they're too far from the opponent's goal, and that puts them in the inferior position. Rijeka do have some weaknesses, the only question is whether they can use them.

The home team don't have absences issues, only the left back substitute Tomic is out, and the new reinforcement Matos. He didn't finish up all the paperwork.

According to the announced lineup, the home team will play 5-3-2 formation, with all three midfielders being exclusively runners and workers who can contribute offensively only through long distance hits by Slavko Blagojevic.

Rijeka passed another obstacle towards the Europa League qualifications easily. True, they have to play the return fixture, but when you score seven goals in the first match, that's it.

- A team that gets a point two times in Split deserves respect. After the tough trip, we don't have much time, we have to try and regenerate, but I believe that a team in that rhythm can react to changes, and we will look the right way in Pula. Our goal is getting new points - coach Kek announced, and admitted he's not sure which lineup will play:

- We'll see how they react to a tough trip and the artificial turf in Torshavn, and we'll know a bit more after the last practice. We're doing well, we created a group of players who respect each other and what they do.

Judging by the announcements, not much will be changed compared to the match against Hajduk. Kek doesn't really have much room for changes because a few players are injured. Still, they've been without most of them (except for Moises who played a few matches) since the season started, and they showed they can easily deal with it. To remind you, Rijeka have a maximum effect this season. They won in Supercup, two matches in HNL, and three in Europe.
