Lech's first-choice striker is back

Vojo Ubiparip missed the first game but he came back in a league game against Piast in a grand manner and scored a hat-trick. The Estonians are coming to defend their minimal lead but they will have a lot of problems with absent players.

Tonight, Lech will try to cover their minimal one-goal deficit from Estonia. The Poles didn't do poorly in that game; in fact, they controlled the game for most of the match but one mistake from Maciej Wilusz sent them back home with a defeat.

What the fans can take joy in is their performance in the first round of Ekstraklasa. The hosted Piast from Gliwice and they gave them a proper 4-0 whopping. It's important to not that their forward Vojo Ubiparip scored a hat-trick and he was absent from the game in Estonia. He was doubtful as he suffered an injury and didn't come in at all. This hat-trick has shown he's ready and that we can expect him put in another top performance.

- Many have compared this defeat with the one last year against Žalgiris, but I don't see things that way. We lost, 1-0 is a tricky result, but we have the second leg ahead of us. If a mistake happens, we need 3-1 and I believe my team can do it - said the home team's coach Mariusz Rumak.


A positive thing for him is that he has the home team at his disposal now that Ubiparip has returned.


The Estonians got a surprise result in the first game and they have boosted their morale even more with a 3-2 away win against Sillamae Kalev. Regardless of that, the Polish team are still the favorites and the visitors are very well aware of that.


- We have a good chance of getting through, but we are facing a very difficult game in Poland. Lech are stronger but I think we can do it, we've learned a lot about our opponents in the first game and I believe we'll know how to organize ourselves - said the away team's coach Igor Prins.


The list of Kalju Nomme players missing is pretty long - defender Šišov, midfielders Vunka and Prates, and forwards Kimbaloula and Neemel. All of these players are more-or-less standard first-team players, which means that the visitors should be very weakened. However, the Estonian media believe the younger players can be trusted as they have shown their worth many times before.
