Germany with a comfortable situation

Ukraine need a win, but judging by what they've shown so far, they'll need a lot of luck to get it

The Germans are very relaxed ahead of this last round. A draw against Ukraine would be enough for them to top their group, except in case Serbia beat Bulgaria by 3 goals or more, and even then they will go into the semifinals as the second-placed team.

They weren't so convincing as on Tuesday as they were in their debut, even though they did better, they saved a point in injury time. While they were trailing back in the second half, Serbia had a few dangerous chances and coach Sorg later admitted they were lucky to have gotten a point at all. 

- We lacked concentration, we know we can do better than this. The most important thing is to fix our defensive errors - said Starke, the man who scored the goal for 2-2.

Sorg will face Ukraine with a similar approach as against Serbia, i.e. with defense, but he has announced "some minor tactical changes". He has a new option in midfield as Stolze (Wolfsburg) has replaced injured Dudziak.

Ukraine are in a very complicated situation as only a win would see them through, while they will depend on goal difference in case of a draw. However, they have fulfilled their main goal of securing the World Cup place and they can play without any pressure.

- Germany are the candidates to take the gold, they're one of the best young teams in the world. They have every quality of their senior team - style, technique, speed and power - said Petrakov.

They have beaten Bulgaria but they weren't too exciting. The hero of the day was their keeper Sarnavskiy who save a penalty. Apart from counters and set pieces, they will struggle to create solid chances against Germany.
