Since Kyrgios served for the first set, he won the second one, and that shows how tight the match against the unpredictable Australian was. The Frenchman continued his winning run, recorded his 8th straight win with only two lost sets:

- Nick is dangerous when he serves well because then he takes more risks on the return. I am pleased. I used my chances, which is crucial, because sometimes you don't get a chance to fix things. 

Even though his record in finals is not excellent, it is much better at home (6-3). He will now face his compatriot, and his record against his compatriots since 2014 is 16-3. He lost to Benneteau and twice to Monfils. 

- Lucas is playing great and improving all the time. He knows how to win a title and I want him to win many in his career, but I hope he will wait a little longer for a new title - Jo joked.

Pouille

He recorded only one win this season, until this week, and now he is one step away from the title. Even though the win over Gasquet seems impressive on paper, most of that is the fault of the more experienced Frenchman who dropped mentally at the end of the first set:

- We often train together and I knew exactly what I need to do. Winning the first set was crucial. After that I relaxed, hit a lot of winners and made a few mistakes. 

Now he will face another compatriot:

- Jo is going through a happy period. He will become a father soon, his performances are close to those in his best days and he is on a winning run. I lost our only head-to-head, but I am much more mature now. Both mentally and in my performance. 

Even though he is still prone to slipping up, his record against Top 20 players this and last season is 11-13, which suggests his abilities.
