The German was disappointing at the Davis Cup against Belgium. He seemed like he was better than Darcis but in the end he won only one set. Even though it must have hurt, it didn't stop him from winning his second ATP title in Montpellier. It wasn't easy, he lost a set in three out of four matches, but with the wins over domestic players, Tsonga and Gasquet, he earned the trophy. 

- I am happy that I won my first title this season. It was difficult, I won only one match in straight sets, the final, and all the matches were difficult. I think I played at a high level today and I am happy - said Sascha who also won the doubles title with his brother Mischa:

- It was a great week in both singles and doubles. I am happy for the way we played. We lost only one set in the entire tournament. This was a successful week for the Zverev's. 

With the triumph in France, the German reached his best ranking ever (18th position), but the draw has not been kind to him in Netherlands. In the first round he will face a Top 10 player, Thiem. 

Thiem

Unlike the German who won a title last week, the Austrian slipped up. Congrats to Basilashvili, but that defeat is a big slip up by Thiem. And the worst thing is, we can say that he went down without a fight, lost both sets 4-6. 

- There isn't much to say about this match. I played horribly. I couldn't get in the match. Nikoloz had no problems, he returned well and deserved to win. It is not hard to find the reasons for my defeat. The court was very fast, the altitude was higher than usual, this was my first match after Australia and I was not ready. I was disappointed when I got home, but I am motivated for Rotterdam - said Dominic.

Of the 4 defeats he suffered this season, two were to Dimitrov and Goffin, which can be understood, but Evans and Basilashvili are players whom he should be defeating. 

Zverev and Thiem faced each other four times, interestingly, all four times last season. The Austrian is in the lead 3-1, but none of their matches were won easily and in straight sets. We should also mention that Zverev won their only match that wasn't played on clay court.
