The Swiss struggled at the start

The Swiss was impressive at the US Open last year, he showed that he is a player for the top levels, but he has not kept that momentum at the start of this season. 

He struggled in the pre-season tournaments, and he also struggled in the first round of Australian Open again, this time against Klizan. The Slovak turned out to be a very unpleasant rival and the Swiss was down by a break half-way through the deciding 5th set. But he managed to calm down and regain focus and create two back-to-back breaks for a final and hard earned win. 

- He played really great, he didn't allow me to play my game. I fought hard and I am happy to get out of such battle as the winner. This was not my best tennis, but the important thing is I won - said the Swiss. 

Johnson

The American doesn't really have any points to defend in the first months of the season and anything he does is really a bonus. 

He started his appearance at the Australian Open the right way since Delbonis couldn't provide any resistance. Johnson controlled the events on the court from start to finish, and won a break in each set for a comfortable and routine win at the start. 

Last year at Roland Garros, Wawrinka routinely defeated the American, and an additional problem for Steve is the fact that his career record against Top 10 players is 2-16. But he recorded the two wins last year, and Murray struggled a lot against him at the Olympics.
