The Croat wants to make the best use of the three introductory tournaments before defending the title on US Open, but he didn't play since Wimbledon. Chung isn't a naive opponent and this is a tricky draw for Marin

Healthy Chung would have been a favorite during the Davis Cup, but he forfeited during the match and he is the only one who knows his real state. During the match against the Israeli it was clear that everything was fine with him, and that was the Korean's another good presentation. That confirmed that he is the future.

Since the start of the match it was clear that it's going to be a one-way street. The Korean did a turnover in the first game, played safe on his serve, and all Sela managed to do was lose another serve in the first set. The first set thus went on the side of the Korean who didn't allow for a single break-point. In the second set he continued in a similar fashion. He took the lead with 4-0 and left Sela on a single game in one very convincing match.

In the end he allowed for a single break-point on 4-1 in the second set. He saved her and just how convincing he was is shown by the data that he lost only four points on the second serve. He dominated in all game segments which is seen from the results. This win proves that he's completely fine and that the injury and the David Cup forfeit is a thing of the past.

Because of shoulder problems, Cilic played his first tournament in the middle of March, and of course that was a handicap. But, he's still among Top 10. Even though he rested last week, he's come a long way on the ATP ladder and leveled out the ranking of his career. However, he didn't play since Wimbledon which could definitely be a problem. He lost to Djokovic in three routine sets 6-4, and he still didn't find a winning combo against the best player of the world. Despite that, the Croat hopes for good things during the hardcourt tournament.

- The American tour conditions always suited me. My goal is to accumulate as much points as I can in the first three tournaments in order to defend my title in New York with the least pressure possible, and to achieve my goal to remain in the Top 10 company by the end of the season - said Marin.

That US Open is the main focus and now he's already thinking about returning to the place where some of the best memories of his career occurred. That, but also the fact that he didn't play since Wimbledon is something Chung can be happy with. The Korean isn't naive and he could use any kind of an advantage he gets. He has a lot of weapons up his sleeve, and he showed he doesn't have any problems with being nervous. Cilic can't be happy with the draw, especially not this early...
