Argentinian in a six-game losing run

In Ramos's three arrivals here, he has two wins in the main tournament, and lately he collected the most important points on challengers. Schwartzman is in a bad series now, and in the last four matches he didn't even win a single set

Schwartzman had 2-1 in sets on this year's Roland Garros against Monfils. Even though the French was very motivated, which is not always the case with him, for two hours the Argentinian was a better player. Later he lacked more experience, and maybe bravery. He allowed a home star to slip through and with it started his losing run which is still lasting.

Of course, playing on grass was just a short trip and in it he scored two defeats. The lack of height and strength in the hits was a key factor, but returning to clay didn't help. He won only five games in a Davis Cup dead match and he seemed very disappointed on court. Return to the European clay didn't help. First he was defeated by Istomin who prepared well for the clay on Davis Cup, and last week he also lost to Cuevas.

The Argentinian had the same problem again. The Uruguayan scored twice more winners and decided points when it was key. The Argentinian lessened the defeated because Cuevas had a double break advantage in the second set after the won tie-break. Only three months have passed since Schwartzman almost beat Federer in Istanbul, and now he's in a six-game losing run.

Ramos, on the other hand, is filled with confidence and points from challengers. Three weeks ago he won an Italian challenger. He rushed through that week with only 22 games lost. Before the grass season he had other two solid challenger performances. That's his tactics. When ATP level gets tough, and when he needs to save his Top 100 status, he always likes to return to challengers.

As for ATP matches, in the last two weeks he has a single win. Maybe he should have played better against Robredo in Bastad, but we can't hold the last week against hi. Fognini was better and the Italian almost won the title in the end. He dominated in two sets which he won. In them the Spaniard didn't even earn a break-point, and the set he won was more a sign of weakness, lack of focus, which is often the case with the Italian. Fognini is in shape and one of the best clay-players on the tour.

Even though Ramos is here a common guest, he's not that successful. Only two ATP wins. Schwartzman lost last year here to Granollers who remembers his Kitzbuhel success.As for conditions, he won't help anyone too much, but the Spaniard has a better starting hit. With players like this that's not advantage in particular because both of them thrive on exchanges. Schwartzman may be in a crisis, but he didn't forget how to play and his match against Cuevas was solid.
