Razzano: I'm experiencing some problems but I'd rather not talk about it

Suarez-Navarro allowed Niculescu to get only 4 games to confirm she is really playing great tennis at the moment. Razzano stunned her first round opponent but her the level of her game and the impression she left in game on suggest she's not ready to beat a player like Carla

Suarez-Navarro did a lot this season. She is currently No.8 and we could say she's currently playing her best tennis ever. She did great in Rome to finish the tournament by taking a set in the final against Sharapova. That boosted her confidence ahead of RG and her first round match against Niculescu proved that the Spaniard has a lot of confidence.  

The Romanian had nothing to surprise Carla with. She didn't stun her by taking the shots early but rather played her usual game which left Carla enough time for planning her next move. The Romanian was inferior. Suarez's top spin caused her a lot of problems and her unsophisticated shots couldn't do anything against someone with great technical skills like Suarez.

- I took this match very seriously. First rounds are always tough and complicated. It sometimes takes some time to really get in the tournament and that puts pressure on you - Suarez said. 

Carla reached RG quarterfinals last year but her ranking was never better than now.

- I think I have a lot of more confidence than last season. I'm doing really really well. I'm trying to be aggressive. I think my serve improved a lot. I'm really trying to dominate from the start through serving. As for the other segments of my game, I know what I'm doing. I'm telling you, I'm confident and I know what I'm doing - No.8 said.

Suarez's performances this season are a proof of what she'is saying, especially what it comes to clay court. She is slowly getting the aura of a top player, the one others need to work hard again. Getting respect is not easy but she had it now.

Suarez was knocked out of quarterfinals last season but what are we to expect now that she's doing her best? She's no concerning herself with that..

- I don't feel pressure at all. I don't feel like I need to do well here. I'm taking it one match at a time. I feel good physically and mentally and that's all that matters - Suarez said.

That doesn't go for Razzano, though. She won her first round match but struggled with some physical problems. When asked about it, Razzano wouldn't say what it was.

- I'd rather not talk about it. The tournament is not over. I can serve and play - she said.

She pulled out of her Strasbough semifinals match not to risk Roland Garros, which is a special place for her. Even though Razzanos ranking plummeted, she still deserves respect, especially home. She was doing great in Strasbourg last week and has had some really magical wins in Paris. But when taking a look at her season overall, it's clear there are some problems. 

- This win meant a lot to me. I've been going through some tough moments from the start. I've had some private family problems and it was important for me to be with that person. That is why I missed some tournaments. After that, I had some health problems. It was nothing serious but it needed treatment - Razzano said.

Everything regarding her is kind of unclear. She's not at her best level physically but refuses to talk about it, her results are not great. But she was the underdog in round one and we said that if there is one place in which she can stun everyone, its here. She did it but her level doesn't seem to be enough to pose a threat for someone like Suarez especially because the Spaniard would force her into a lot of running through her spins. 

Suarez Navarro is currently playing the best tennis of her career. It is no accident that she is the 8th player in the world which is a career best for her. She easily defeated Niculescu who knows how to get under everyone's skin with her playing style. However, nothing helped the Romanian. The Spanish woman is a patient player, doesn't make many mistakes, and precisely that will not suit Razzano today. The Frenchwoman is having some physical problems, she can't be more consistent than Suarez Navarro, she can't last longer in the rallies, she can't move better. The quality difference is huge, not to mention the form. Suarez Navarro will not go out on the court and demolish Razzano with her winners, but she will break her down with her consistency, throw her off court with her spin shots, force her to play physically demanding tennis, and at a high level - and Razzano lacks that at the moment.
