Biscan's first real test

- I am happy with the way the players accepted me so far, and we are hoping for a positive result in Finland - said coach Biscan

- Europa League qualification between Finnish VPS and Slovenian Olimpija. The first leg is played in a small Finnish city Vaasan, 2500km from Ljubljana, and the return fixture will be in a week in Slovenia. 

- VPS are currently second-placed in Finland, after 15 rounds, 8 points behind leaders HJK. In the last 13 rounds they suffered only defeat, at home to Ilves. 

- This will be a great game for us. Everyone are looking forward to playing in Europe and I hope that a lot of fans will come. We are facing strong opponents and a positive result would mean a lot to everyone - said midfielder Voutilainen. 

- They have no injury problems, and the team chemistry is great, since half of the regular Finnish championship is behind them, so they should be fit. 


- Olimpija's new coach, Biscan, played three pre-season games. They defeated lower-division side Skofje Loke 4-0, lost to Gorica 3-0 and drew 1-1 against Trepce Albania. 

- It was not sure if Biscan will be able to lead the game against VPS since he still doesn't have his coaching licence, but UEFA issued him a temporary one and he will be on the bench. 

- I am happy with the way the players accepted me so far, they understand that we have a lot of hard work ahead of us. We are hoping for a positive result in Finland - said Biscan. 

- The club acquired 2 midfielders from Bosnia, Brkic and Tomic, and two hot prospects, Spanja and Abass. 

- Three players left the club, left back Kirim, who was a first team player, left winger Wobay and Marko Vukcevic. 

- Boateng and Kronaveter are struggling with injuries, and it is highly unlikely that they will play in Finland.
