This is a best-of-three series. Midtjylland won both regular season games by 2 goals, together with a 9-goal win in the Cup from early season. Still, the first h2h took place a few days before Midtjylland played CSM in Champions League. They had a 17-11 lead after the first half, controlled the game in the second half. The 27-25 is from the away game which was the last game of regular season when Midtjylland already secure the top spot and Copenhagen needed the win desperately to get better draw in semifinals. That was their first championship defeat in a year. Copenhagen mostly did well home but their away games weren't as successful. The more significant wins are only those from the last two away games (Sikleborg, Viborg). The other three wins are over bottom-table teams. There were also defeats to teams from mid-table.

After getting knocked out of Champions League, Midtjylland are fully focused on this series. They managed to beat some top European teams home this season (CSM, Rostov, Gyori). In CL QFs, they put up a very good fight against Vardar. Their only home championship defeat was to Nykobing when neither team played with top lineups. They have been dominant over Copenhagen the past few years. There aren't too many changes on the team compared to last season when goal difference was 6, 10 and 5. Hats off to visitors' form in 2017, Midtjylland are one level above that right now in Denmark.
