Barca without a win in San Sebastian for 10 years

They managed to record just 3 draws in the last 8 trips to Anoela, while recording 5 defeats

You never really know what to expect from Real Sociedad. On a good day, they are able to beat even the best opponents, but they are also prone to disastrous slips. Following the bad home defeat to Sevilla home, Real went to Malaga and got a 2-0 win last weekend, which kept them in the race for Champions League. 

The well-experienced midfielder Prieto talked about the unfavorable schedule:

- We did a great job in Malaga to get 32 points and stayed at the top. We should be optimistic about Barcelona but I am concerned because we didn't have enough time to prepare for the Cup game. We had 52 hours less for that than Barcelona and that is a big disadvantage in these kind of games. I think we can make up for that by playing home. I have no doubt our fans will be there to give us a boost against such big opponents. They are in fine form but so are we. I think we can go to Camp Nou with a good result.

Sacristan spared forward Vela in the last game. He should be ready for this and that is great news for the coach. Carlos Martinez, Mikel Gonzalez, Joseba Zaldua, Markel Bergara and Imanol Agirretxe are all still out. Bergara and Agirretxe started practicing but we'll have to wait a while longer to see them on the pitch. 

Barcelona clearly needed just one win to get back on track- They got that against Atheltic in the Cup. Bursting with confidence, they went on to trash Las Palmas 5-0. Since Real lost in Sevilla last round, Barca are now just two points short. 

Martinez has been preparing for the trip to San Sebastian like for any other game:

- It doesn't matter that it's a knock-out meeting and that this is only the first leg. We are preparing for this like for any other game. Our goal is always to get the win and that won't change today. Real are doing really well and they proved that they can be dangerous against any opponent. Eusebio has been doing a great job. I have no doubt they will make our lives difficult today.

Barca have been one of the top teams in the world for years now. However, they do not have good memories of trips to San Sebastian:

- I don't want to dwell on the past. I am convinced the day for us to win in San Sebastian is coming. 

They recorded their last win at Anoeta back in May 2007. In the next 8 trips to the second-biggest Basque town, they recorded 3 draws (one in the Cup) and 5 championship defeats.

Luis Enrique has everyone at his disposal today, apart from Rafinha (minor injury). He decided to leave Ter Stegen Barcelona (does not play Cup games) and Mathieu.
