A win, and a loss by 15 points or less, will bring the Russians the top spot in the group. Even if Granca lose here, everything can be decided at home against Fuenlabrada, but they are announcing revenge for home defeat and a serious game

Eurocup's Top 16 stage is in its final two rounds. There are plenty of teams who secured their spot in the quarter-final, but there are some interesting clashes. Lokomotiv defeated Gran Canaria by 15 at the Canaries, they have 4-0 ahead of this game and they secured advancement. All that's left to do is confirm their top spot in Group E, that crosses with the Group G, where the battle for advancement is still going strong, but Zenit and Hapoel seem like the most viable candidates. If they win today, Lokomotiv will secure the top spot. If they lose by 15 or less, they also secure the top spot. So we come to the conclusion that this is a game with little pressure on Lokomotiv, it is actually more of a form and character test to see how the team reacts in these circumstances. But knowing the principals and the way their coach Obradovic works, there will hardly be any relaxing here. 

- I think this game is a good test for us. And our opponents are motivated because they are still fighting for the play-off. We have to get out there and give it our best, we cannot relax, we need to secure the home court advantage for the play-off - said Mardy Collins, and the top spot means they get home court advantage, which plays much bigger role this season then it did in the past. 

The play-off was played at two games and the overall difference, but now they are playing best-of-three system. 

- We managed to surprise Gran Canaria in the first game, which is great. But they have been unpredictable this season, sometimes they are great, other times they don't give their best - said coach Obradovic, whose team has no injury problems and they had a week to prepare because they did not play in VTB League over the weekend. 

They played their last game at Fuenlabrada, won 91-87, with unreal rebound domination (39-17), and four players with 15 or more points, and center Jones was not among them. 

- Gran Canaria looked great in their last game at Valencia, they always look impressive away. We have to stop their shooters, Salin and Kuric, and control offensive rebounds. They are good at that - said Obradovic. 

That home loss to the Russians, with a bit slip up at Fuenlabrada, where they lost 10-15 point lead, brought Granca in position to fight hard for the quarter-final. 2-2 record does not guarantee them anything, even though Murcia and Fuenlabrada have only 1-3. With that, Granca will play the last round at home against Fuenlabrada and regardless of the result here, that win will bring them the 2nd position because they have 2-0 against Murcia. They need to win by over 15 points to stay in the play for the top spot, but that is not realistic. 

This will be their third back-to-back away game. Last week they limited Murcia to 67 in a direct clash, and won by 16, over the weekend in the ACB league they parried Valencia for a long time, but conceded 86 and lost. They played without center Planinic again, while their two shooters did not lay well again, Salin with 1/8 from the floor, Kuric 3/8.

- This type of games is what we are looking forward to and wait with a lot of motivation - said Pablo Aguilar.

- We want to prove ourselves on the court against one of the main favorites. With a win we could calmly go into the last round, even though we know it will be complicated because they are in good form right now.

It is unknown if Croatia center Planinic will help the Spaniards.

- They didn't give us anything at our court, but now we have a chance for revenge - said Sasu Salin. 

- We played well at Murcia, had a difficult game at Valencia which we lost with little points and now we have to give our best to finish this series of away games well - said the Finn, and he and his teammates will also have a big Island derby against Canarias this weekend. 

- From the mental and physical aspect we have no problems, we are all well and we are looking forward to these games. 

Granca have the squad that can compete against Lokomotiv in everything and this will be a big clash between two teams that have great aspirations in this competition.

    Even though Lokomotiv have already secured a spot in the quarter-final and pretty much the top spot in the group with 4-0 record (they can lose by 15 points at most today), the game is still very important. Those teams that finish the best among the 8 teams that qualify for the quarter-final will get the home court advantage in the entire play-off (important because it is played in best-of-three system). The best teams will be decided on the basis of their Top 16 results, and currently they are Valencia, Lokomotiv and Bayern with 4-0. In case there is more than one team with the same record, then the point-difference will decide (in the case of the same point-difference, then the amount of points scored). Lokomotiv are currently at +54, they are playing at home against Granca and the last round at Murcia; Bayern are at +49, playing at home against Ulm and the last round at Khimki; Valencia are at 40, they are playing at home against Cedevita and the last round at Alba.
