The Cavs without Kevin Love

The team from Texas lost the last three head-to-head games, including the disaster from early November. However, Love's absence, their better form and home court advantage are all reasons for optimism

The horrible start to the season caused by many injuries has done Dallas a lot of damage, who are desperately trying to reach the playoffs, which is 4,5 wins away. Their perhaps most impressive performance of the season was the one from last night. They beat San Antonio away 105-101 to end the 12-game losing run there.

- The last time we won in San Antonio was 6 years ago. We met them a few times this season and we knew that we stand a chance. We were pretty confident after the game. I knew that we stood a chance if we do well for 48 minutes - Seth Curry said. He hit team-high 24 points and added 10 rebounds and 5 assits. 

Harrison Barnes followed suit with 19 points, while Matthews and Nowitzki added 17 and 15. One of the heroes at the Mavs was Ferrell who signed a 10-day contract on Satiday to get a start the next day and hit key free throws with 7,3 seconds left on the clock. 

- Ferrell got here just 36 hours earlier and was one of our top players. A lot of guys added to this win - coach Carlisle said. His team had just 7 turnovers. 

The Mavs will have to rely on Ferrell today since Deron Williams and J.J. Barea are out. Without them, the Mavs will try and get their 7th win in the last 10 games. The team from Texas is 10-12 home and will now face the defending champions, who got into a bit of a crisis and responded with 2 straight wins. The one over Thunder (107-91) from last night was especially impressive. 

- We just want to play a good game. I think we did that today. Everything started with defense - James said. He recorded 25 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists.

Irving added 29 points and 10 assists. He will have to do well today since Love stayed in Cleveland with a back injury.

After allowing 119,3 points in the previous three defeats, the Cavs limited thunder to field-goal shooting of just 37,0 percent. They limited Westbrook to 20 points. 

- This is something we can build on. I hope this is the game that will get us going in defense - Lue said.

The Cavs won the previous three H2H games and trashed the Mavs early November 128-90. However, the team from Texas is in better form, Love is our and they have the home court advantage. All of that could make this an interesting game.
