The Nuggets lost their top player for a short period of time

In case of a crazy final part of the season, the Suns could sneak their way into the playoffs but they will probably shift their attention to development of young players after the All Star break. It is very possible that they will get rid of some veterans to allow their young talents room to grow. 

Earl Watson team is doing better on both sides of the floor lately, at least compared to the start of the season but they are still far from the final product. They recorded the last defeat to these very opponents 120-127 at Pepsi Center. The fact they were in the game until the very end is comforting but the defense once again failed. 

- They hit some important shots and we couldn't stop them - Eric Bledsoe said. He hit 14 out of his 28 points in the last quarter. 

The Suns won't have many games in which they'll finish with 18 points less (28-46) than the opponents. Taking into consideration the fact they had just 14 free throws compared to 30 for the Nuggets, it's a miracle they even stood a chance. 

- We had 18 rebounds less and 18 free throws less. Those are numbers you cannot get past. Still, we had a chance to win - coach Watson said. 

The most efficient player alongside Bledsoe was Booker with 24 points, which saw him get the 11th straight game with at least 20 points. He averaged 25,8 points with 47,6 percent shooting, including 47,8 percent from the three point range, in 12 January games.

The Nuggets won 6 out of the last 8 games. Danilo Gallinari and Will Barton did well to hit 23 and 16 points, respectively. However, the star of the game was Jokic who hit 29 points (12-for-21), added 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Sadly, he suffered a hit injury late in the game and that will see him miss at least two games. That is a big blow for the Nuggets since his average in the last 14 games in 23,4 points, 10,5 rebounds, 5,3 assits with 60,5 percent shooting from the floor. 

- I'm glad it's nothing serious. He will most likely miss a few games. We'll miss him - Darrel Arthur said. 

Arthur, Nurkic and Faried will get more minutes since Jokic isn't there. Gallinari, Barton and Chandler will have a chance to take more shots. The Nuggets are 11-8 this season when Nurkic started at the center and 9-17 when he didn't. 

They can find optimism in the fact they beat the Suns in all three games. They often hit at least 120 points against those opponents so they fact the Suns hit 104, 114 and 120 didn't bother them.
