The Canadians concluding a very difficult road-trip

The Raptors will play their 6th back-to-back away game tonight, but they shouldn't be too tired since the last time they, and the Spurs, played was on Sunday

Even though they changed seven players over the Summer, San Antonio Spurs are still a ruthless winning machine. Of the first 34 games, they won 27, including nine of the last 12. Their four game winning run was ended on Sunday in Atlanta where they lost 114-112 after overtime. 

- It was a great game. They played really well. Both teams played at a high level - said Gregg Popovich whose team lost the first game of the season in which they were in the lead after three quarters. 

That was not a good night for Kawhi Leonard who scored only 13 points with 3/12 shots from the floor in 28 minutes, and he missed both last attacks for his team. This weak performance is not surprising when we consider that he missed the previous two games due to stomach flu. 

- All those medications have slowed me down a bit - said Leonard whose average this season is 24,0 points. 

The most efficient player for San Antonio was LaMarcus Aldridge with 27 points (12/17) and 14 rebounds, while Tony Parker recorded 22 points (10/18) and 6 assists. 

The Spurs definitely needed the day off, they will be playing only 3 games this week so coach Popovic has no need to dose their playing time or rest veteran players. 

The Spurs won 11 out of 15 home games this season, and they will welcome the Raptors tonight, who will be concluding their six game road-trip, on which they recorded 3 wins and 2 defeats. Dwane Casey's team last played on Sunday when they defeated the Lakers 123-114, and duo Lowry-DeRozan was especially great, they scored 72 points combined. 

- I simply go out and play basketball. It doesn't matter to me if I am scoring or creating for others. This time I ws a bit more aggressive than usual - said Lowry after he scored 41 point (12/16) with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. 

Lowey was especially good in the final quarter in which he scored 20 points and started a great run in which the Raptors turned a two point lead into a 19 point lead and decided the game. 

- He carried us in the finish. He played a great game - coach Casey praised his point-guard. 

His Raptors will have a difficult challenge ahead of them tonight, last year they defeated the Spurs at home, but they lost 102-95 in Texas.
