Brose know that they can't get in the playoffs a few rounds before the end of EL group stage but not even that stopped them from wanting as good results as possible in Europe. They lost to Darussafaka in over time in the penultimate round and then lost a close game to Galatasaray. They played rather modest games in Budesliga in between thsoe two. After EL finished and the important point guard Strelnieks got back on the team, they had a 12-point lead over Bayreuth by half time. Away against Tubingen (without Miller, Radisevic and Zisis) they had a 16-point lead at HT and against Alba home by 15. During Euroleague, this is how they did with teams comparable to their today's opponents in the first half: Göttingen +11, Rasta +23, Jena +17, Würzburg +17, Braunschweig +12, Giessen +20.
They were down at HT in Bremerhaven but that was played not even 48 hours after the defeat by a point to Fenerm a few days before the UNICS. Brose are well-rested and ready today. The second spot is at stake, Bayern are close and since the next round is to be played on Monday, I expect Brose to open this fiercely and to settle it by the end of first half.
Bremerhaven are not in bad form but they have one of the worst defensive ends in the league. I think Brose will have no problems playing their game here. Bremerhaven beat Jena, Tubingen and Rasta away but they were down by 23 to Ulm away, by 8 to Bayern (-25 in total), by 10 to Telekom, by 22 to Alba, by 6 to Oldenburg, by 11 to Bayreut, by 9 to Wurzburg in the last away game. Bremerhaven are just doing the job here, they will not be relegated but at the same time cannot reach playoffs.
